Mom and I Got To Pick Walnuts and Persimmons

Mom and I went to my friend's, who is a farmer. I won't mention his name as he likes his privacy. He invited us to pick walnuts and persimmons for the keeping.

You see when I went to my 40 year high school reunion I was talking with him again. Mom and I picked walnuts and persimmons at his place sometime before, but we lost touch.

I'm glad I got to reconnect to him again. He told me that he has lots of walnuts and persimmons and that I should come by and pick them. He was inviting other classmates to come by also.

So I recently asked if mom and I can come by and pick them. He said to come by. So we spent some hours picking and loaded up the car.

Mom likes walnuts, as she likes to make candies out of them and give them as gifts. I like to just have a hammer ready to shell them and eat them that way.

Now persimmons as you can see from my other blogs I really like. I ate a bunch this night before writing this blog.

I loaded up the trunk of the car with walnuts and the back seat with 4 size 15 garden pots full of persimmons. So that is a lot of persimmons.

I let Mom have most of the walnuts and persimmons. She will be giving them away to whoever want some to relatives that come by on the Thanksgiving holiday.

My friend let me know that I can come by and get more later on.

Mom and I will have to come by again and pick some more.
