My 89 Nissan Sentra Keeps On Going

I bought this car used from a girl at my work in the later part of 1995 when it was about 6 years old. I still drive it to this day. It is about 28 years old at this writing and I have owned it for about 22 years. Sure it's got another used motor in it and also another used standard transmission in it. Over those years parts have broke and got fixed.

My Steemian friend @artedellavita wrote a blog about replacing a fuel pump. I let her know in a comment that when you replace a fuel pump you won't have to worry about replacing that fuel pump for a long long time. She told me I should write a blog about it. Thanks @artedellavita.

Some have even asked if this car is for sale. What? Me sell this car? No. I like this car. Sure it leaks water in the rain and also leaks some oil. Even my mechanic asks when am I going to sell this car. I tell him, "So long as you can fix it. I will keep it."

When I was working at the telephone company I was an inspiration to one. A woman from work told me that she told her husband, "If David can keep driving his old car as long as he does, then we can wait at least 2 more years before we buy a brand new car." Wow. I'm helping people by just driving this old car.

This car has about 258,215 miles on it and I'm sure it can go a lot more. I figure the longer I keep it the more money I save. Do you have a used car that you'd like to keep for a while?

Nissans are great cars. I had a 97 Altima that was my best car. The water pump actually went out on it and the owners didn't know what to do with it and asked me if I could fix it. I said yes and they gifted it to me. Best care I've ever owned. ran for about 100,000 after I replaced the water pump and got to a few money making oppurtunities. Wish I still had it would buy a crate engine and trani and drive it till I die. lol

That sounded like a great 97 Altima. Actually it sounds like a great story. Please blog about it. We need good content here on Steemit. I'll follow you cause I'd like to hear more about the 97 Altima that you had.

I wish I had photos of it I have none. that car was really the greatest. Id like to get another Nissan.

When you get a chance go buy one from Craigslist from a private party.

With all my blogs in mind as I was walking from the big box hardware store coming to my car I thought maybe I should take a shot of my Nissan just in case I want to blog about it. I didn't even know I was going to blog about it till this morning pondering on what to write about next.

Aww thank you for mentioning me, it was your idea I just cheerleaded you on haha
Fixing is always better of disposing. And yes, like you said, once it's fixed you won't have to worry about replacing it for a while.
Lovely post!

Well as soon as you gave me the idea I went to work on it. Thanks for being my cheerleader!
