Splitting And Stacking Firewood

These big pieces I picked up because of a Craigslist ad advertising some free fresh cut oak. They needed to be split. I wanted to do that cause I wanted some extra space in my backyard.

Sometimes that oak was easy to split and sometimes I was breathing so hard I had to take a rest. Well I finally got it done.

The next door neighbor's dog kept on barking. I guess the dog didn't want to keep hearing the pounding sounds. I been working on this oak for a bit, I just wanted to finish all the big pieces in my backyard today.

Then after the splitting I laid them on top of a pallet that I had in the backyard. I was thinking today that this is like playing building blocks stacking this split oak. So now it is in neat stack. Well that is one goal checked off.
