Wow Hi!

It’s me, that gal from New Jersey, who grew up going to Coney Island that you met on the internet. Hey. Wanna grab a slice? ;)

Good morning. For you it’s not D-DAY I suppose, but for me it certainly is. of course I’m not entirely packed and organized, but the plan is to be up early, give the Joes big hugs before they go to work, get a nice long yoga in, shower, get ready, get everything in bags and that’s about it. All loose ends tied.

Mom’s got a doctors appt in the area around 10 so she want’s to say her goodbyes over a quick coffee in the morning and then ya girl heads out.

Phew, today was hard. I really thought I had it all on lockdown, but the family time was intense. I guess intensity is better than indifference though. I’m thankful for them, they just all love in different ways, and it took a lot out of me toggling all the different energies. You know how I am...

Dad and I spent a little time together, talking about travel. I finally opened up to him about the first trip to Heathrow and the time we had with security. Told him about the purple phone and how that was how I lost my passport. Felt good, we actually had a laugh at parts of the story. He reassured me and said he’d be praying for me, as he’s done since I was in diapers. Obviously the waterworks were flowing for both of us. Seeing my Dad get a little misty totally unravels me. Ive only seen it happen when he talks about how much he loves me and brother, and how proud of us he is. By that point I’ve got no prayer, pass the tissues. When the German cries, you know it’s serious haha.

Having this deep sense of peace washing over me as I sit here typing this to you. I’ve already checked in and I have my boarding pass in my Apple Wallet. Everything is good to go. Just a few more steps.

I’m so incredibly thankful for how far we’ve come, and excited to see what’s next. I know once I get there I’m going to finally start properly being excited for Steemfest and everything that comes with it. Coming through arrivals and seeing the face I see in my minds eye as the last thing before I go to sleep is going to be so incredibly awesome.

What more can I say. I’ve got work, an internet connection, an amazing man who loves me, and a plane ticket to see him. I’ve got everything I need. Although, we still may need to pick up some Stilton ;)
