My opinion
I do not think it is paranoia, rather an obsession with something new.
Pokemon GO is a great invention that has opened doors to new things in order to benefit the human lifestyle, itself has made many people have left their homes to "hunt" Pokemon, has made friends and meetings that otherwise It was not possible. We have healthier people always moving.
Hopefully other companies learn from this new technology and evolve.
