Birthday + Lockdown

I hope everyone is fine during these crazy times. And I hope everyone has time to write this time, including me. By the way, the photo was taken last week in a local bar. It was my birthday five days ago and a friend/previous guest visited our region and gave me a gift. That was me feeling happy and appreciated. We went to this local brewery and celebrated.

I still can't believe that I'm getting old. But honestly, I don't really feel it. I still don't talk, behave and act my age. I still think a lot though, especially now that we are on lockdown. Way too much time to think. A few weeks ago, I moved to the city after figuring out that my business is not going anywhere at this moment. Sadly, it's not just the tourism industry but most businesses around the world are greatly affected by the Corona Virus. Most people are thinking about how are they going to pay their bills. Fortunately, I found work in a real estate and construction company as an executive assistant. I'm back to 9-5 and it's fine. We do anything to survive. Thankfully, I was able to see beyond the moment and was able to settle here in the city before everything has gotten worse. It's better to be here during lockdown where I can still have access to supermarkets, pharmacies, and restaurants. Things are cheaper here too, which is good for us who won't get any salary. So we have to stay at home and be frugal. Probably fast and eat 1x a day - no big deal, it can be healthy and detoxifying. But, it is just sad for those who were left in the beach town where most didn't get the chance to find work, get to the city or anything.

I heard most people are now allowed to work at home. Things that were impossible before such as work at home, short working hours, task efficiency are now possible.

There are some things that I can do again now, an alternative to overthinking. I can start writing and sharing my indoor life here on Steemit. And I see there are changes here again. I see that I can subscribe now to communities. I think that's great! I hope we have more time now to comment and get to know each other. Nevermind that cryptocurrency is still low. During these uncertain times, we should value our community more.

As for me, I was sent home to be on self-quarantine until the end of the month. And of course, this is not a big deal for me. Isolation and social distancing are not something new to me. I actually worry more about those who are not used to hunger. I worry more about those who are not used to isolation. May we all rise above this crazy situation.
