It turns out that keeping a diary not only makes us happier, increases self-esteem and contributes to a more successful career, but also improves our memory, heals the liver and lungs, reduces blood pressure. To finally inspire you to start a diary, today we decided to share a few not boring and very useful techniques of its conduct.

🌿 Sleeps

If you are one of those who remember what you dream about, start to sketch my dreams. To do this, preferably immediately after waking up, so the record is most complete. Moreover, it is worth fixing absolutely any dream, no matter how strange, funny or disturbing it may be. This practice strengthens connection to the subconscious mind – a source of creative inspiration.

This may be due to the stressful situation that occurred the day before. For example, you feel that the load has become too high, and it causes you fatigue. To start write down what you want to correct, and then offer a quick solution to the problem.

My perfect day

This practice develops self-confidence, promotes emotional recovery and realization of the desired. The first time its implementation will take a little longer, as you will need to think in detail about the day of your dreams, which should happen in the near future.

Presenting the same day and recording it in the diary, specify the details of your personal and professional life, including places, interiors, other people and other any details and circumstances that will only come to your mind, up to the smells and sensations. Day you can literally paint by hours and minutes since awakening and until bedtime. And your daily morning practice will be reading this entry and a colorful presentation of"your perfect day".

There are three things I am grateful for

Simple evening technique. You write down in diary 3 any things that have taken place in the last 24 hours, which you are particularly pleased, and thus end your day on a positive note. By the way, the word "briefly" is key here: do not overdo it, plunging your thoughts into the topic, and do not start looking for ways to solve problems. It can cause insomnia.

A study published in 2005 found that those who keep records of stress events that occurred to them are less likely to get sick and are more likely to recover from emotional trauma than those who do not. The essence of this therapeutic technique is as follows: to describe in the diary an event from a distant or recent past that had a strong negative impact on you, specifying what you thought you felt and who else was part of your "test" (parents, partners, and so on).

This technique has much in common with the previous one. You also write about a stress event, but you formulate it as a letter to your abuser. Reception helps to Express all your emotions without entering into a real dialogue, and therefore without harming the relationship. The "unsent letter" allows us to clarify our own position as much as possible, to find a rational core in the conflict and possible ways to solve it.

And here is another modification of this technique: you do not need to write a letter to someone with whom you have a misunderstanding, but, on the contrary, to someone who has strongly inspired you, or to a loved one who has already passed away, about whom you miss and continue to love.
