I always tried to figure out, what successful people have, that is not been found in other people.
Here you have to seperate in two different kinds of success:
- business success
- life success
Joy is life success. It means to not be jealous, enjoy life and loving what you have. Asher Roth's song G.R.I.N.D. had such a great influence on me as a child. At 2:55 he started talking deeply and said that
Happiness isn't about getting what you want all the time
It is about loving what you have
I love this cite and I think nobody can think enough about that.
On the other hand there is business success. I don't think that joy is the important thing for that. It's rather the tenaciousness, or even the obsession to reach something big. Followed by technical and decision skills as well as creativity.
Then there are people who have both and become universalists and an incredible influence to the world. Those are the names, which you can remember 100 years after their death for their knowledge and innovation. Like Steven Hawking or Elon Musk.
How do they do that?
Some people call it the secret sauce, like Tim Urban in his article about Elon Musk, where he made his own attempt to figure out, why those people are so special. I can recommend it. He explains it really nicely and funny!
So i think it is not about the mood. You have to stand up and get things done, otherwise you will achieve nothing. It doesn't matter if you don't do things happily or sadly ;)
