Life without the internet is confusing. We utilise it for nearly everything, including communication. Over 53% of the globe uses the internet, which is enormous. Education is more accessible to children than ever.
Your morning routine includes news reading. You follow friends, celebrities, sports, and current events on your phone or tablet. You listen to a podcast on your drive to work. You email, video conference, and text buddies at work.
You probably check your social media profiles if your office doesn't have a website block. You go home, watch a Netflix movie after supper, and browse social media one final time before bed.
What if the internet shut down in the middle of this routine?
Some say life without the internet is ideal. These people believe Gen Z spends all day on Instagram and that internet addiction is horrible. Naturally, this isn't entirely wrong. Research suggests that excessive social media use can harm life.
There are numerous reasons to emphasise how difficult living without the Internet may be, but most crucially, it can erase the “sense of community” that most of us need.
For instance, we may wait months to see distant relatives or friends to catch up and exchange news. May be more disconnected than ever.
Fewer details: Google saves lives daily. Imagine life without Google to answer all our questions instantaneously. We can now read all of Dostoevsky's works and learn about the pyramids owing to the Internet.
GPS: You may be lucky to live in a period when maps aren't needed, but those who use them realise how hard it is. Before the internet, you had to look at hundreds of pages of a crumpled map to go to another city or street.
But abstaining from the internet can also improve our relationships. Without screens, we may live in the moment.
Family time includes sitting together in the same room while everyone is on their phones in many houses today. It can be fun to spend time together doing what we enjoy, but it can damage family connections.
By limiting phone and gadget use during family time, you can better talk about your day and enhance your family bond.
Sleep quality: Benefits go beyond wakefulness. Our online addiction is also affecting our sleep.
Information addiction has increased due to smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets, reducing anxiety and happiness. We check social media and email often to stay informed.
If we can't check our phones every five minutes, anxiety may rise. Without internet, you may relax and enjoy time with family.
Get more work done: Ever feel like there aren't enough hours in the day or wonder where time goes? Everything may change without the internet since you wouldn't spend all your free time online.
Those hours you waste on social media can be better spent. Without internet access, you can focus on your task without checking your phone for notifications.
