Writing is thinking : What does the great writers say

in life •  3 years ago

The author is the one who organises his thoughts and expresses them in words. This is something you do on a daily basis. You continually put your thoughts into words whether you're in a meeting, fighting with your spouse, disputing at a car dealership, or trying to raise your children.

Many of you, without a doubt, do not write down your thoughts. But it makes no difference. Writing is essentially the same as thinking. You must improve your writing skills if you want to become a better thinker and speaker.

In this essay, I'll share with you a few life lessons I've learnt from some of history's greatest writers. These teachings go beyond simply writing about life...

Let's get started...

  • Stephen King: Be aggressive, but not too assertive.

"Never! Jargon words like conceptualization, displacement, attitudinal, and judgmental should be avoided. These are the characteristics of a bossy jerk.” Stephen King is a well-known author.

Do you have any idea who spends time with forceful people? As you may have imagined, he is a driven individual.

Nobody likes those who are constantly trying to impress others by professing to be sophisticated. Yes, you are an astute individual. Yes, your grammatical skills are flawless. You're getting it, we're getting it. But it makes no difference to me! Don't try to be someone you're not. And, above all, be a decent human being. Not just in writing, but in your ideas as well.

  • James Baldwin: Read, read, read, read, read, read, read, read, read, read,

“I've finished reading everything. I used to commute between two Harlem libraries when I was thirteen. This taught me a lot about writing. First and foremost, I'm amazed at how little I know. The more I study, the fewer people are aware of it. And I'm still working on my writing skills. I'm not sure which method is which. All I know is that you bring it to the reader's attention. This is something I acquired from Dostoevsky and Balzac.” Baldwin, James

Good reading has always been a passion of mine, and that will never change. Actually, the more I read, the more I enjoy it. My favourite pastime is reading on the couch.

In a nutshell, for me, “reading = life.”

  • Ernest Hemingway: Get a jump start on your writing

“All you have to do is write one sentence,” she says. “It's the most accurate sentence you've ever heard.” Ernest Hemingway was a famous American author.

The most difficult part of the task is getting started. We do everything to avoid getting started. "I'm exhausted." “This isn't the proper moment.” “I think I need to do some more research.” We construct sentences like this.

"Resistance," says Steven Pressfield. It's the force that prevents you from penning even a single word. When you publish a real sentence, the floodgates open, as the Resistance knows. Everything else in life is the same way. Tear down these dams and get started, then keep going...

  • J.K. Rowling advises, "Be disciplined."

“You must labour, but in a disciplined manner! And anything else your teacher wishes you had... because you require it.” Rowling, J.K.

Professionals and amateurs are distinguished by their discipline. Discipline is a sign of someone who is serious about their craft and abilities.

For you, how important is writing? Allow me to rephrase: What is the most important thing to you?

Your actions speak louder than your words when you do it every day.

  • Ray Bradbury advises, "Be obstinate."

“When I began writing seriously, I realised the most important revelation of my life: that I am correct, and that everybody who disagrees with me is incorrect. This is an excellent lesson to learn: don't listen to others and always follow your own way.” Ray Bradbury is a writer who is well-known for

It is necessary to be stubborn in order to do something bold in life. Everyone will tell you that you did something incorrectly. Perhaps they are correct. What if they're wrong, though? Do you believe you're in danger of making a similar error? This is not how I think. Make the decision that you believe is correct. You can't go wrong this way.
