Caller ID

in life •  6 years ago

Those who know me well understand that I strongly dislike the telephone. I find it invasive and disruptive. I equate the invention of the device with social evil.a1drjohnthumb.JPG

Less than 100 years ago, personal communication required personal interaction. I live in a setting void of almost all personal contact. Frequently I can exist for 4 to 10 days without speaking.

This is possible by using the ‘caller ID’ display on my phone. By previewing the number I know if I want to accept the call.

Through the use of personal ring tones, I choose how often I allow noise interruptions.

Telephone technology will eventually eliminate the need for telemarketing.

Silence is golden.

Here is today’s beauty.

We do not answer the phone when it rings if it is someone who needs to talk to us they will leave a message. If no message is left it is a junk phone call and it just shows up as a missed call. Have a great day.

I enjoyed your post until the end...lol...

I am hugely allergic to this my favorite fruit, of course....smh....life...the longer I stare at this dessert, the more I begin to 'itch'...lol....smh...but, truth!

Peace.

Intrusive technology should be ignored.

in my opinion there is no need for telemarketing.

or salesmen.

or advertising.

If I want to buy something I research it on the internet, then I buy it. I either go to the store (which I hate) or have it delivered to my door.

I use 'unique ringtones' on my phone. If the ringtone isn't someone I want to talk to I don't answer.

I too, go for long periods of time alone.

Once again, mind alignment. I agree. Phone is always on airplane mode. If I want to talk to someone, it's face to face, or by "appointment." Lol... a "phone date" so to speak.
