Well Hello, Hive
My hen here, Lady P
(short for Lady Pecker, which upon saying out loud one day came to me how some could interpret such a name differently, was shortened to lady P straight away) is happily wondering if my camera has hidden amongst its apparatus any lovely meal worms, her favourite treat (besides fingers of course). She demonstrates my own wonder...What is going on over here? Does HIVE have some lovely worms and promise of sustenance?
Here today is my first post on Hive,
though I've not really any certainty what it is. I have found, upon returning to Steem after a long hiatus in which both the World and the Steemit World seemed to go T over A, if you'll excuse the vulgar term, That many a Steemian has moved here.
So...Hive
I think I am meant to be installed here and happily so, as it seems many of my favourite Olde Timey Steemians have happily set up camp. Upon some of their advice and encouragement, I too am happily going to pick up sticks and pick out a nice plot here in our New Digital Village, maybe something with a nice plot of land for a garden but still close to the village for a good chin wag or chat over the fence.
So much of the world has changed in a few days.
And so it seems fitting that the escapist world of Steemit, which I finally decided to escape back to, has also turned upside down. I guess the 'New '20s' are going to be like this. Rather than copying the old 1920's we're just going to rush right to 1929 when That world also changed drastically.
#Now, I'm not sure if there are also New people here on Hive NOT from the old Steemit,
but if there are and you are reading this (and have managed to get this far with all my parenthetical) Hello, I am happy to know you. I am an artist first and most often post my art but am also a "dabbler Homesteader". And that "Dabbling" had begun to take on more seriousness and even trumping (no political connotation meant in that term) my art making.
I live by the Sea
and that can be lovely and serene and dreamy and artsy, for certain, but it can also be Hell on the garden. I cannot tell you the amount of times I've relocated my Veg plot every year we've been here. Each time TRYING to find the spot that is both sunny and not so blessed windy...So, that has become my latest obsession, but I think I'll save that discussion for my next post.
To tempt you back for that post, though, here's a photo snippet to lure you back.
It is my hubby and fellow steemian (and hopefully future Hiver? Is it Hiver? Are we Hiver's or merely the HIVE? I digress...)
helping me with my latest project involving taking down and putting up fence panels, more to come on that next post.
Now, back to today and our world and HOPE
The HOPE of new Life and rebirth as my newly hatching quail here represent.
The HOPE of promise and planning
That a new batch of chicks represent, planning on enlarging the flock and looking to a Positive future of abundance and self sustenance.
The HOPE of planting seeds upon the window sills
Knowing they can make it from their weak state of early new beginnings to a stronger more robust day in the warmth of the Summer Sun.
And I'm hoping that here, on Hive, and also in our physical World that our HOPE can bring us all back to a new shining day in the Warm Summer Sun.
As I am an artist
I suppose I shall close this first post here on Hive with a rough sketch of one of my animal themes. It was a rough sketch made a month back, as Life, even then, was beginning to change and my pens and pencils lay idle whilst dreaming of the coming Spring...perhaps somehow guessing at the big change coming to the world and the increased importance of food production. Who can say?
I'll close with one more HOPE
and that is that I Hope I can add to this new community of HIVE and that those who remain on Steemit also receive joy and hope as well. I wish no ill will to anyone and we all need, ever more, the sense that we are ALL in this together, and that we, people, should support one another as much as we can.
Now...do I have to make new footers?
A new Header? What ARE the tags to use here...I guess this will be more to-doing to figure out. If any have made it this far and YOU do have good Tag suggestions, put them in the comments. I'm mainly going to post Artwork and My Garden so, are those things? Are there Art and Garden Communities?
