Lazy mornings, even lazier this summer. Conversation and actions happened in slow motion due to the extreme heat. Our three sloths were almost motionless. It would take time-lapse photography to determine if they were still functioning.
One thing that was certainly still working was the caffeine. Even if the body didn’t want to respond, the brains certainly did fuel by the aromatic drug.
Nike’s thoughts were coming fast and furious his processing power faster than his new smartphone or so he would like to think. His chosen subject if he ever entered the British TV show “Mastermind” would be cryptocurrencies from their inception to their mainstream adoption. His virtual wallet is full of strange names: Bidet, OMG, Ku-Coin. Or maybe to have a few wallets. He didn't want to put all his crypto eggs in one basket.
Talking more to himself he said out loud…” One day”.
Local friend Peter bored without meaningful conversation asked:
One day what?
Nike as though being woken from his inner thoughts continued out loud:
- I have a dream that one day everything will be on the blockchain. Can you imagine a world where nothing is a secret anymore? Information about finances of any company or government available everywhere. No more corruption as all money flows are traceable and open to public viewing. No more tricky schemes possible. No more notaries, accountants or costly middlemen of any sort. A free decentralized open system world powered by Steem. The second, industrial revolation.
Our local seemed skeptical.
-Yea, it’s a good idea but what if the system was hacked. Who will protect it?
-That’s actually it. It is impossible to hack something that is here, there, and everywhere. How could you possibly hack something that has no constant domain?
-Not sure,- said local.
-For me, there are three types of people: open minders, close minders, and never minders.
And it was clear who belonged to each category.
Nike continued with admiration in his voice “I don’t know what they teach you at school in Eastern Europe but this lad Vitalik still only in his twenties has created the crypto Etherium. He's a genius and well ahead of his time.”
But of course, it was too hot for serious discussions. After a long pause, the next topic as if from nowhere was about who had met the most famous people. Adrian wanted to win this one and showed off his connections casually named dropped and recalled a chance encounter in public toilets of a B list celebrity then who went on to become an A-lister. Not George Michael he was quick to point out because of the connotations.
Maybe it was just the heat affecting stimulated minds.

Entertaining. However, Vitalik has nothing on Dan Larimer in terms of scalabilty and speed of his concept. Steem and soon to be released EOS being cases in point. Just to add my input to the expat conversation.

You are right Eos will be much more scalable and able to handle many more transaction per second but a place for both of them in the fast moving crypto world.
