in life •  7 years ago

For fun, religion or stories it turns out that in all countries of the world there are special dates for big shows and events. Although, as might be expected, out of context or common sense there are festivities that leave everyone open-mouthed for the "curiously absurd" that some parties become. Ready to ask you a big ''WTF?''.

Today steemers, if you did not know them, I present you 9 rarest and most absurd festivities that exist in the world.

1. The greatest intimacy of your life

And just for a little bit you will not feel violated. For those who want to have a foreign sweat on top; Okayoma - Japan has a holiday known as Hadaka Matsuri (Naked Man Festival) and occurs every February in the temple of Saidaji Kannon-in. It is an act of over 10,000 pure hairy chest males in loincloths fighting to earn some sticks (which do not sound better either) called ''shingi''.

Get this ''stick'' is a symbol of fortune and luck for which enough and enough for you to tow naked to another and be called ''fukuotoko''. It's a festival that takes about 500 years or so and surprises ... seriously surprised.

2. Aim ready!!! Orangeeeeee

During the Italian carnivals of Ivrea (Being in February) the streets are dyed a very striking color and it is because a war is fought to sudden death whose objective is to throw oranges at your adversaries and ingeniously known as La battaglia dell'arancia (The war of the orange). It is not soft, these people gather in squares and pull themselves with force as if a snowball war was.

The party is inspired by the story of an ancient tragedy of resistance where a tyrant tried to rape a young daughter of a miller, who ended up with his throat cut. Well, the holiday ends with a "funeral" and the election of the miller's daughter, who must march.
And there are thousands who gather for this....

3. The protagonist is your coffin

By tenebrous it won many things. However, that is not the goal of this annual parade in San Xosé de Ribarteme. In The party of Santa Marta the coffins take the show, the inhabitants parade inside them while their relatives raise it in a funeral way for the place. There is music, food and acts but seriously it is a parade of ''People alive in his coffin'' gives a disturbing aspect.
The villagers do this as a gratitude to their virgin. Many patients ask for miracles to this figure and if they have been cured they are placed inside the coffins of the festival (I say simulating their near death) with the relatives carrying the "dead" in gratitude (Of who did not die) paying the promise.
The truth is something that borders on the morbid.

4. An honor to the penis

And I'm going to bet because you expected something like that. It is usually celebrated in April since its date is variable and this parade is made so that everyone has a penis in their hands. It is called Kanamara Matsuri (Metal Penis Festival) and is held in Japan annually in Kawasaki. The goal is to venerate the penis, a character that believes me will be in every corner, every picture, sweet, ice cream, food, among others, the penis will be as present as the sky itself.

In the past it was carried out to ask for the protection of sexually transmitted diseases by prostitutes but today they do so as a harbinger of good business, prosperity and fertility.

Where does it come from? There is a legend of a perverse demon that hid inside the organ of a beautiful woman who in her wedding castrated two men with her teeth. To accommodate this, a blacksmith made a metal ''Falo'' to break the beast's teeth on his next attempt. This ''metallic phallus'' (which apparently worked) is the giant penis venerated during the party.

5. The ideal afternoon to show your ass

It is celebrated in USA every second Saturday of July and ATTENTION that You read well; Some people actually love this. What do they do? In the call Amtrak Mooning hundreds of people gather in Laguna Niguel (California) with the objective of lowering their pants and showing their bottoms (Mooning) right in front of a railway for passengers ''taste'' the show.

Why? I imagine they only do it by making a joke (apparently funny) to the passengers of the day but this ''unusual'' festival has reached disgusting and excessive levels where it has been necessary for the authorities ''to place'' formal rules arrived the day of the full moons.
Really ... No comments.

6. Who will take my cheese?

I hope this cheese is really very good. It is a tradition with unknown origin that every last Monday of May in England in the district of Gloucester the ''competitors'' climb to the top of the hill cooper (which is not at all small) to there throw (seriously) a cheese huge known as ''double cheese Gloucester'' for later go rolling down the hill with the aim of tracking the rolling cheese.

It's just called: Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake (which is synthesized as ''The Rolling Cheese Festival'') and that competitor who manages to catch the cheese gets the prestigious prize look like taking the cheese as a trophy. I am surprised by the diffusion of this festival where there are so many people willing to participate and so many others willing to see, bet and sponsor.

7. They are not oranges, they are now tomatoes

With the same dynamic to a street fight we have the Tomatina held in Buñol - Spain, which is not very popular in the region either, but it has become known now. Do not wear your favorite clothes that day because that last Wednesday in August people enlist for a fierce battle of tomatoes, reaching up to 100 tons of tomatoes (100,000 kg) and you know something? people pay tickets to come to fall with a can! Being the foreigners who take the greater percentage of these.

8. A particular carnival

In Sardinia (Italy) The carnival of ottana differs from the happy concept of the same, that day the streets will be full of cumbersome creature with sheepskin and bull's head accompanied by other beings who wear deformed masks and clothing as a shepherd . It is a strange popular celebration of the region that takes place on January 16.
These "creatures" walk all over the place apparently "happy" while their pastors complain constantly and tired. Although, these strange beasts can throw themselves to the floor and rebel to their guide.

9. Trauma express

It's been done since 1621 and I'll explain it to you, every year in Burgos (Spain) a very loving being dresses in a grotesque monster known as ''Colacho'' while dedicated parents place their children (born in that year ) lying on the floor for this ''Demon'' to jump on top of them and shake them with a ponytail. The people insult him and throw flowers so he can do this as well. What combination...

Why? It is assumed that the people in the act are facing the devil with what they distance to overcome the evil that this represents so that their children are purified.

Finally

Curious, right? I was short because they are heaps. Being present at any of these parties would leave us with more than one impression, but each society with its same theme does not deny how much fun it would be to see people doing those things.
