The daily gems, remember that?

The daily pick of hidden gems. I recently went back in time to my younger years on steemit, you know back when dinosaurs were still on earth. It really feels like a long time since I joined steemit. Close to a year now.

Time does fly and lots of things have changed since then. The daily gems, as I remember doing them, was a lot of fun. Not only did I meet new people on a daily bases but I also was able to read a lot of things that changed my life.

My dad an I came up with this idea as I wanted to help get some peoples posts noticed that were getting hidden. The idea was inspired by @donkeypong who was doing something quite similar on a weekly bases. Some of you may know this great guy others will get to know him.

Looking back this project and its mission did accomplish what it was meant to do. I did get a lot of negative comments and all that other great stuff which comes along with negativity. But for most people it was something really good. I think most projects have received their fair share of negativity, just having a look at curie and a few others.

Now the daily pick of hidden gems has never really stopped, it has just been hidden. I do exactly the same thing I used to do when I did the gems, I go through posts are read a whole bunch of them for my own personal improvement. It is great to curate, I love it and a few friends of mine (who I met on steemit) also joined in with the daily gems. One of these people was @knozaki2015 which did a greman version of it. I loved working with this guy, it was really nice and he taught me quite a lot.

I have learnt a lot since I have been here and some things are of great value to me, for those just joining or haven't been here for long. Stick around and enjoy it, I can promise you that the longer you stay and the more involved you get the more you will love this platform. Life has its ups and downs and so does steemit, but it is worth it in the end.
