World Arm Wrestling League (WAL) and the Pure Power of My Big, Beautiful Son

I do make an appearance in the above-chick in the blue hat/grey coat :0)

My fifteen year old son, below in the grey shirt, is a tank. so what sport is a good fit for him? Most people start shouting out football or UFC, but he's also super intelligent (not biased at all ;) and taking hits to his precious noggin is something I'm really glad he has no interest in.

Arm wrestling on the other hand- now that's a sport I can get behind!

He started showing interest in it just in the past couple of weeks and has playing around with his dad and his older brother (age 29, my eldest son in all ways but biology)- and it just so happened they were holding a youth division world arm wrestling event in Syracuse NY on the 26th.

Of course due to his sheer brute size they stuck him with the 17-18 year old's, all of whom we learned have been training for the past two years.

They say arm wrestling is about 30% strength, 70% technique...our verdict is still out on that one, though I will say that lack of technique is what landed him in second place instead of first...but pure power is what landed him in second place instead of last :)

All in all, it was a blast, and the next big event, which will be televised, is being held at the Syracuse Fairgrounds in July- according to the refs and two pros watching the matches "Just a bit more technique and he will be unstoppable!"

Get him Ethan!

That's really really sweet, what you been feeding him BTW? Pure testosterone laced with corn?

LOL, he appears to be taking after my mom's uncles and cousins, those dudes were 6 foot 5 to 6 foot 7- one of them was a bare knuckle boxer in NYC in the thirties :) Also, no vaccinations, we credit that- he has a wicked immune system on top of everything :)

Way to go, Ethan! Or should I say eThANK!! Looked damn near unstoppable on the way to the finals! Fifteen and already a powerhouse. I can't imagine how he would've performed given professional training. First time to compete and yet he ranked so high. Must be good genes ;)

You won't have to imagine for long, he is going to get professional training before the next big event in July :) I'll claim the good genes, though I give some of the credit to no vaccinations ;) But my grandpa on my dad's side was the Champion Shot Put thrower in Ireland in his prime, and I think I told you about my mom's uncle and cousins, six foot five to six foot seven, one of them was a champion bare knuckle boxer in NYC in the thirties :)

That makes me happy to see him so cool in that video! Can't imagine losing a match to a nicer guy; he would flatten me in arm wrestling, but he'd be really nice about it!

Ha, so true! He went up to all those guys later, shook their hands, great big Ethan smile :) If you found your way to NY in July, you could watch him in action-- plus that's an excellent time to visit NY!

That first video seemed to feature Ethan as the star, all professionally edited and spiffy, that is a real treasure.
Let the blockchain hereby record my words: I will come to NY this year to see the mighty team dreemit.

Can't wait! We'll have a blast!

Same here! Looking forward already.

Hell yeah we will!! I was delivering grapevines today, glad Howie jumped in to answer for me!

Yes, and it was good to hear, I like the enthusiasm already! ;)

Who knew arm wrestling had a league 😆 well done Ethan 😄

Haha! I knew actually, my dad was not into many sports, but he loved boxing and arm wrestling :)

Well done Ethan! What a beast!!
Fantastic post and all the more interesting as I'm a parent. Just reading your words I can tell how proud of him you are. Can't wait to hear more about his progression and to think he came 2nd with no training I'm guessing he'll progress a heck of a lot! My personal tip for training would be for him to watch Sly Stallone in "Over the top" ;)

Haha! Yes, he is a beast, and I am definitely proud of him, he's just a great kid in general, I'm super lucky :) His dad and I love the movie Over the Top, we definitely made sure he watched it!

Edit: P.S. No vaccinations for that child, he truly could be the poster kid for why that's the way to be- and he's never sick :)

Sounds like he has a great set of parents :) Glad to hear about the vacc's, what a wonderful example to show how pointless they really are.
I'll be watching out for more updates on this story and wishing Ethan all the success in the world.

Aw, thanks :) And I know, he's definitely a great example :)
