Freedom and determination. Why do we do things. Know why?

in life •  7 years ago

Im going to talk abou freedom and determination.
U may have lot of questions in mind that why do we do anything? Why do we dont any thing?
Who governs us and compels us to do things?
The answer is logical and beautifully described my philosophers.
The actions that God perform, can someone influence the God to change the mood and perform anyother action rather than the action that God has planned? I have tried to answer these questions in this post.images (1).jpeg

Freedom in literal sense means free to do anything. Freedom is guided by two types of controls.
1: external control ( external determinism)
2: internal control ( internal determinism)

If a person is guided by external determinism then he cant be regarded as free, only notion of self determinism is compatible with freedom. In this regard there is a notion of external determinism attached with human actions. It means that they are externally guided by either finite or infinite being. According to spinoza only God has freedom in real sense because his actions are guided by his own INTERNAL LOGICAL NATURE and there is no notion of external control in case of God. Therefore God gas freedom because of self determinism. According to spinoza its not possible to change the nature of God through our limited efforts ( prayers, worships).

God do what he wants to do.

In this regard spinoza has said, what ias going to happen will happen because its not possible to change the internal logical nature of God. Only God has self determinism and real freedom.

This all depends on how one defines both God and freedom. Very well put, by the way. I am not familiar with Spinoza, however I personally have a difficulty accepting philosophy based of the limitations of a Christian God.
That being said, the mention of the balance between internal and external forces are right on target. Our freedom, in my opinion is inside, while everything external to our physical bodies is limited in its freedom. For instance, we are bound by gravity, oxygen to breathe, etc.
Very good and thoughtful post.

Well my friend... In short I meant to say, we should have faith in belief. If something is meant to happen it will happen. We just have to keep belief @noxsoma

I certainly believe that, my friend. Most of what you wrote, I was really feeling and have been thinking about for some time. I will be writing more thoughts about freedom and spirits and such. I look forward to our discussions, even if we disagree. Cheers @drqaisarbashir
