Learning one skill or thing at a time is how we learn from school. This technique is used everywhere. But is there a better way?
Read several books at a time
In principle, many modern people do this and so on. This is due to boredom, but surprisingly - such a lazy reception is of great benefit.
Search for a link
This is not necessary, but it is desirable, especially if you have never used interleaving before. For example, if you want to write a novel, you can start with a study of mythology to learn more about literary archetypes. In parallel, read the Russian classics, as well as manuals on writing books.
Mix the old material with the new one
It is best explained by studying the history. It is not necessary to begin with the Stone Age and gradually move towards the present. Read books on the history of the Roman Empire, listen to lectures on the Great French Revolution and watch the TV series "Vikings".
Use interleaving with other learning strategies
We have a wonderful section on the blog, which contains good articles about self-learning, from the use of flash cards and finishing with the acquisition of skills.
Do not panic if results do not come right away.
Interleaving, as already mentioned, is exceptionally good when it comes to long-term results. But if you want to make a short-term benefit, this is unlikely to happen.
