Destiny

Have you ever met someone, and had such a deep connection that you felt that you were destined for each other? I haven't, but then again, this is not a story about me, but about my old friend and coworker F.

F got to know his wife through what can best be described as a coincidence.

A friend of his was chatting to a girl online one day, and when his friend left his computer for a while, unlocked, F decided to have some fun and take over. He was discovered by the girl rather quickly, because his spelling was a lot better than that of his friend, so the girl passed him on to one of her friends.

F and the new girl started chatting, started liking each other, and after a while, F flew out to meet her. Eventually they ended up marrying each other, and now have a kid together.

A couple of years later, they were hanging out with some friends, watching TV in their living room. On the TV was a program about people surviving drowning accidents. After the program was finished, F started telling a story about an incidence he experienced when he was younger.

He and some friend were at a water park, when he came upon a girl lying helpless at the bottom of a pool.

He got the girl out of the water, gave her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and got her breathing again. The girl got on her feet and walked away without looking back, apparently in a bit of a chock.

"Where did this happen, and when?" his wife asked him, with a bit of a confounded look on her face.

F told her.

"That girl," his wife finally said, "was me."
