Ever wondered why the yogurt section in the supermarket is getting longer by the day.
It’s all one big yogurt fest!
Seriously though, whatever flavour you need you got it, hazelnut, fruit ‘n’ nut and even donut…
Yes folks… my local supermarket even sells donut-flavoured yogurt… I mean …what?!?! How do you even make that?
So why give this humble entity of sweet yummy-licious dairy goodness such prime real estate in our supermarkets, surely it can’t be THAT good for us…or can it?
Amongst this sea of yogurts and flavours (most of which is an artificial mess-athon) are some immune boosting super yogurt varieties, such as Greek yogurt and Turkish yogurt.
Yogurt is made when we add some friendly healthy bacteria (yes, there is such a thing!) to milk and allow them to jiggle about a little (ferment). Which is then strained through a cloth. Normal yogurt gets sieved through twice, but Turkish yogurt goes through this shizzle 3 times! Making it much more thicker.
Turkish Yogurt
Turkish Yogurt provides twice as much Protein and lower levels of carbohydrate than regular yogurt so keeping hunger pangs at bay. It also boosts your immune system and keeps the diabetics behaving.
Yogurt kicks ass when it comes to choosing a healthy food option….
