Those of you who read my blog sometimes would have noticed my absence recently. I was in the hospital for a few days. I'm not sick, I just gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy.
You see, for almost this entire year, I've been pregnant. I wrote detailed full length posts about it but I never actually posted any of them. I don't know if I was being superstitious but I just felt like I couldn't say anything about him until he was really here.
I suppose it didn't help that the doctors labelled my pregnancy as high risk and sometimes said scary things about what might happen. I knew I was fine and my baby was fine but it's hard to stay confident when the 'experts' keep saying something else. Writing stories based on random words helped take my mind off of all the what ifs.
Now that I've given birth, I'm getting used to being a mom. I used to actively avoid newborns (they seem so fragile) but that's not really an option when you're a parent. Slowly I'll get back into Steeming. But, for those who wondered, I'm well and I'm here.
