Making an advert

in life •  8 years ago

One of my modules for university is called Constructing the Moving image. In this module we look at all of the different types of cuts within movies, adverts or any moving image. We also look at the types of camera used to capture events and why this works effectively. For my first assessment I have been given the task to create an advert to promote anything I want.
So for my advert I decided to try and create my own product to advertise, I took the galaxy/glitter jars that have been going round on Facebook and made these inside baubles as christmas decorations.

I tried these out this morning and it has worked out quite nicely. When watching adverts on tv or online you don't necessarily realise how much work actually goes into making an advert ready for viewers to watch. Being behind the camera and being the one who has to make the advert really makes you think about how much time and effort people dedicate into that 30 seconds. I didn't even know what a treatment was before I had been given this task, it makes you think about all of the possible camera angles in order to get the most effective shot for the advert to really sell something.
