Walk through the "Laguna de la Restinga National Park"

in life •  7 years ago

Good morning dear brothers of Steemit, I hope you all feel very well. Recently I was with my family for a walk through one of the tourist attractions of the Margarita Island, Laguna de la Restinga National Park, located in Boca del Río, Macanao, Nueva Esparta State, Venezuela. It's a very beautiful place, in fact I wanted to go again hahaha.

I would like to share with you this experience that I enjoyed with my family and show you some of the photos where we capture beautiful images of this place and the species that are there.

In addition to the charm of its landscapes, we also find people with great charisma and an excellent attention to the tourist. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr."Pepino" who took us on his boat to make the tour of the lagoon and told us the story of it with much enthusiasm. During the tour he showed a lot of interest in us enjoying the walk and stopped to show us some species that make life in the place.

Bridge over the Laguna de la Restinga, you can appreciate the fishing boats. In this lagoon only artisanal fishing (with hook) is allowed. The use of nets or some other method is prohibited for the protection of the species of the place and to avoid their extinction

Among the species found in this lagoon we can mention: fish such as corocoro, robalo, mackerel, mullet, lebranche, sardine, snapper, grouper and dogfish.

Among the mollusks we can find: oysters, guacuco, mussels, chipichipi and pepitone.

It is worth noting that many sea turtles spawn on their beaches.

In addition, they shelter birds such as: the Togogo, the Margarite's Parrot, the plunger bird, the Alcatraz, the Flamingo, Margarita's Soisola, the Seagull, the sea scissors, the pelican and the blue, reddish and royal heron.

That's how our boat trip through the lagoon began: my parents behind me, then my uncle Felix, finally Mr."Pepino", whom they affectionately nicknamed because he says "a cucumber-free salad, does not taste like anything" and my person in front.

View of the lagoon before entering the canals to do the touristic tour.

The lagoon is formed mainly by mangroves and during the walk we observed the formation of canals, tunnels and squares that make the place something magical, where we were able to take photographs that I will then share.

In this photograph we can observe the formation of channels and squares.

This is one of the channels where you can observe the formation of a tunnel with the mangrove branches.

The founders of this park gave each channel a name according to its characteristics and beauty, as we can see in this photograph.

Among the mangroves inhabited by many sea stars, we had the opportunity to see them and Mr."Cucino" very gently took one so that we could observe it closely and without causing any damage. After taking the picture, we put it back in place.

The seahorses also live here, but there are very few and difficult to find to see them up close. Because they are in danger of extinction, it is forbidden to remove them from the water to take pictures.

In the lagoon you can also see a lot of oysters among the mangroves.

In the 11 years that I have resided on the island, this has been the tour that I liked the most. The narration of its history, the beauty of its landscapes and its fauna, invite you to come back and visit this beautiful place once again. At the end of the walk along the canals, Mr."cucumber" took us to the beach of La Restinga, where we were able to enjoy a delicious lunch and the friendly attention of its people.

Back from the beach restinga, finishing our walk through the lagoon. In the background of this photograph we can see in the mountain, the image of the Indian lying down.

In this picture you can see the mountains that represent the famous "tits of Maria Guevara".

One of the things I like best is sharing with family and friends. To conclude with the post, I want to show you the family photos:

At the end of the walk, we asked Mr."cucumber" to photograph himself with us to have a souvenir of his person, who graciously agreed.

If you have the opportunity to travel some day to Margarita Island, the pearl of the Caribbean, do not hesitate to take a stroll through the Laguna de la Restinga National Park. I assure you that you will spend an unforgettable day and you will have the good attention of the famous "cucumber" gentleman. Ask for him and he will gladly attend you.

Well, I hope you liked my post, for me it is a pleasure to share this experience with you Steemians brothers. Then I will share other experiences with you...

If you liked my post, please give me your vote and follow me, so you will help me to continue growing in this beautiful community that is Steemit. Greetings from Margarita Island, Venezuela. Take care, brothers: D
