My second granddaughter was born on Christmas Day 18 years ago.
As a young child she found it difficult having her birthday on Christmas Day, so we all made sure she got a birthday present and a Christmas present. So this year she turned 18! On Christmas Day myself and three of my children gathered at my eldest daughters house to celebrate Kiara’s 18th birthday.
I guess one advantage of having a birthday on Christmas Day is that family members who live away are usually there, as they come home for Christmas each year. Australia is a big country so we are sometimes living many miles from each other.

( birthday girl with the log hair sitting at the table)Madonna, Kiara’s mum made her a vegan blueberry pie for a birthday cake and we all sang happy birthday. We had an evening Christmas meal together, drank cocktails and enjoyed having a family get together. After dinner we watched Russel Brand which resulted in an hour of belly laughs. A very talented comedian.
Getting ready for the new year celebrations after the weekend and then back to work for another year.
