The sign that we don't love someone is that we don't give them the best we have in us.
-Paul Claudel
Knowledge.
We discover the existence of the other person, stop being that "strange being" for us. We relate more, discover certain things that we have in common and even those that are not common but that are great to know. Some define this stage as FRIENDSHIP.
Falling in love.
It can be considered as a process of idealization. We attribute unique and special characteristics to that person, we begin to see these common things or not, as something wonderful; it causes us to be closer to the person, to know him more, we do not stop thinking or mentioning him in the same conversation. In other words, that "strange being" becomes something extraordinary, since we constantly live by highlighting his virtues, seeing him all the good that he possesses and considering him as the right person or in other cases as "my better half".
Reality.
It complements the previous stage, as we begin to see things as they really are. After a few months we begin to realize the defects of the other person, being more aware of what are their points against, that is, those things that separate us, irritate or annoy us, we get a clearer view of how our partner is.
Acceptance.
Being aware of who I'm with, knowing a good part of our couple we reach a point of decision and acceptance. First I accept that I am not perfect and that nobody is perfect, so I am not the one to judge my partner and I do not have a magic wand to change everything I do not like about that person. And it is there that I decide to accept my partner as he is, to accept his past, his problems and failures; I decide to love him for what he is and for how I am and I feel to be with him.
Life projects.
By recognizing and accepting my partner, we began to work on one of many common projects. This stage is accompanied by the choice of what you want to achieve as a couple, the path you want to follow, the plans and dreams you want to achieve. This varies according to the timing of both, e. g. if they are long or short term, if both work or if one studies and the other works.
Commitment.
A commitment that leads to marriage. It is the step that complements the life projects as a couple, is accompanied by coexistence and is characterized by change and growth as a couple, the relationship matures in such a way that commitment ends up becoming the best life project. I commit myself with my partner to be faithful to him, to remain at his side, to be both in good and bad, and thus an endless number of promises that are validated or consecrated to marriage.
Family
It is the result of commitment and is linked to the economic and emotional stability of both. Since it is a of responsible stage.
Stay in the time.
One of the most difficult stages that few manage to reach is renewing the commitment to the same person every day. To relive everything you loved about that person at one time, to conquer, to be a detailist, to adore those new changes and to move with them without letting them happen.
Every lover is a soldier in war - Ovid.
Never stop fighting for what you love.
