With new years comes a series of excuses to avoid doing certain activities. We failed to work out because we’re too busy doing other things or we can’t do our cardio because it’s cold or the weather is too harsh for us.
Although some excuses can be logical to some degree, a lot of times it’s our own brain who is stopping us from achieving those things in our lives.
The best kind of motivation isn’t actually by watching videos, reading quotes, or filling your news feeds with inspiring content. The best kind of motivation is honestly to start taking the first steps.
If you don’t feel like working out, get out of your chair and do five or ten push ups. Right then and there you might feel compelled to do more and move on to other exercises.
Start putting your alarm clock on the other side of the room if you have a tendency to sleep in. Realize that by the time you roll out of bed and walk over and shut your alarm clock, you’ll already be awake.
My point is when we don’t feel like doing something or we feel lazy, it’s normally the start of that action that compels us to do even more than we would’ve initially done.
Furthermore what’s important to realize is that our own excuses don’t hold up to raw action and simply doing the work.
Success and a positive life rest on the other side of action, it’s all up to you to simply take action and move forward.
To your growth!
