The message of letting go hurts especially when you've made so much investment into the relationship, business, organisation, etc.
There comes a point when letting go is the wisest thing to do. At such point, hanging on causes more pain than letting go would.

Any relationship that perpetually bruises you, makes you a shadow of yourself and constantly reminds you of who you never want to be isn't worth the pain.
The pain of perseverance isn't the same as the pain of the fear of the unknown by letting go.
Walk away from that abusive relationship.
Walk away when you still can.
Instead of waiting for the tables to turn someday, turn the tables today by walking away for your own sanity and peace of mind.
