Happy Saturday Steemians! Hope you've all been having a fantastic weekend so far :) I've been busy turning a vat of marrows and apples into delicious chutney, so now the whole house as well as me and everything I'm wearing smells decidedly vinegary... but it'll be worth it in a few weeks when those jars are ready to smother on a piece of bread and cheese - yum!

While I was away I missed a tag from the lovely @enginewitty to take on @snook's Pants are Optional 5 Questions Challenge... so I thought that would be a bit of fun for today's post, as the vinegar fumes have pretty much killed off most of my creative brain cells!

Would you let me slap you for a hundred dollars and why?

No... I mean... no. Really. Why? Because I was bullied at school from a very young age and the physical side of it started with regular slaps around the face. Never again people, never again. Hugs though? You can have lots of hugs for free!

What time do you normally go to bed and why?

10p.m. Or at least I did before I joined Steemit. Mostly because I need my full 8 hours sleep, and I love my bed. Now I tend to be still commenting and catching up by that point. That has been the best bit about having a holiday - less screen time and lots of sleep time :)

Favourite day of the week and why?

Sunday because that's the day I tend to get to spend the most time with my boy.

What board game do you hate the most and why?

Scrabble. Horrible game designed to torment people with dyslexia!

If you had the world's attention for 30 seconds, what would you say?

The most valuable thing in your world is time. The most generous gift you can give someone is your time. The only thing that you will wish for at the end is for more time. Drink in every second.

I'm not going to tag anyone in particular - but if you haven't taken the challenge yet and fancy hopping on board, grab those questions and get answering!

Have a lovely day, catch you all tomorrow,
Eveningart x

the most valuable thing you have is time... give generously, and drink it in!

Well- you're one of my heroes and role-models in that respect Blue. x

I was so excited to see this post this morning!!! :D

Love your answers!!

Thank you beautiful Snook. Sorry I've been awol for so long- but looking forward to catching up with you this week. E x

Really great answers sweetie, and so true about the importance of time. And the best thing to give someone IS YOUR TIME... I love that ❤️
And I love You ❤️🤗❤️

Thank you darling Saffi- love you too <3

oh i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

come on here you sweet sweet our miss @eveningart im gonna hug you like there's no tomorrow! hehehe... i hate bullies too.. but worry no more, they dont go long. In fact, I pity them because they are the ones who actuallyy needs more of our hugs. They lack the attention they needed at home. So they take out their revenge and anger outside. But deep inside, they are so fragile.

And you are right about TIME. If we could only manage to control it and freeze and some moments. hahaha.. but hey, life is like that. its cruel sometimes we let the slip without us knowing it. And it is just right again, to KEEP TRACK OF OUR TIME. Its the only thing that really matters. Drink in every second.-----> you nailed it here sister!!!

Im so glad that you are back! You had been missed truly..

Yay - I love Queenie hugs!!

Yes- you're right. They probably had something major missing from their lives at the beginning... and as they years went by, their behaviour just became habit I think.

I think we can control time... as long as we drink in every second and remember how precious it really is.

So glad to be back- I missed you too.
E x

Hahaha Queenie hugs are cute!! 😍😙

Oh I totally agree that time is too precious! I just have to look over at my boys.. they grow up at a fast rate! I try my best to make time and enjoy their being little..

oh my goodness - #5. yes.
10000% yes

you know what??? i'm starting to see that this is a common thread with all of us in WW. we all truly value time, and the time that we give is very intentional. I just read a post by @anutu this morning that talked about buying time (from a child's perspective)

hmmm that is really making me think now LOL i wonder if that's one of the deep connections that we all have. Because when someone doesn't have that intimate respect for the precious quality of time - it truly affects everything else!

but when they do - same. it affects EVERYTHING else

that's going to be on my mind a bit now. because i've seen in multiple times throughout my morning and keeps being impressed deeper with each instance.

and the bullying. oh. that is awful. i can't even express just how nauseous that makes me. When someone thinks that they have the right to abuse others. physically -mentally - emotionally - spiritually.

it makes me sick. i'm so sorry that you had to go through that.

.... question. marrow? like - bone marrow?? and apples???

ok i need a post for this! what in the world is this?!?!?!
i know chutney - but i never knew it had marrow in it!

and i hope your brain cells come back to us soon! hehehehehehe vinegar clothes - away with you! and brain cells - return! LOLOLOL

Ahaha- I've found your "bone marrow"?? comment! Seriously, why does Steemit insist on hiding notifications from me!?

Re: The bullying- thank you. It was a very long time ago, and I'm several decades older and wiser now. But what makes me so sad it the thought that there are other kids out there going through the same thing all over the world. And knowing that if they don't have support at home, or someone to turn to, the effect could be truly devastating for them.

Time. Yes, time. So important. So precious. And yet we spend it so randomly. It's definitely something I need to give more considered thought to.

Marrow... now- you know as I've already told you on DM, but just in case anyone else reads this and things I'm making Bone-Marrow chutney (EEEWWW!!), marrows are like giant courgettes / zucchinis ;) and make a delicious chutney with ginger, apples, sultanas, pepper, vinegar and shallots. I'm making some more today, so I'll try to capture some photos for a post.

My brain cells are just about back. Have a fab week my sweet, E x

42, Perfect.

Hahahaha!! I had similar answers for 2 of the questions!! I think steemit is depriving lots of us from sleep!

Posted using Partiko Android

Haha- it's like a compulsion, isn't it?! And then, if your timezone is out of alignment too- and you want to go to some of the shows on Discord... well... who needs sleep anyway ;)

Its really so bad!! I have to stop myself picking up my phone sometimes if i wake up to a vibration!!

We need to start SA, steemit anonymous!! Before its too late to save ourselves LOL

Posted using Partiko Android

The problem with starting SA is that we'd all just turn it into a Steemit love-fest anyway ;) I've started turning off the internet on my phone at night so that I don't check it every time I wake up - especially as most of the WW are nocturnal in terms of my timezone ;) E x

Lol SA is doomed before we even try you say!! At least we didn't invest our precious time on something that useless then!

i think i was so knackered last night i just slept through it. Phine has gone into silent mode permanently!!

Posted using Partiko Android

Haha- sounds like you needed the sleep. Yeah... poo to SA - we'll just have to learn to use the 'silent' mode more often ;)

too late - Steemit Anonymous was already formed last year.

i was an active member.

it failed me (as you can so clearly see )

LOLOLOLOLOLOL just embrace the addiction. that's what I say. if we are all in teh same boat together - then what a LOVELY BOAT IT IS!!! right @mimismartypants and @eveningart???? hehhe

Lol sometimes we just have to accept this is how it is and take the ride as it comes. At least we have picked up some entertaining crazies along the way!! We may all suffer from addiction, but their will be plenty of laughs!!! And im sure as hell gonna choose the laughs!!

Posted using Partiko Android

"Choose the laughs"

this needs to the be the WW mantra ;)

that and "every day we hustling"

Fabulous answers, and pretty much in line with the answers I would give, including your visual. ;-)

Totally with you on #1, and for the same reason. Most of the bullying I got was nonphysical, but I did get slapped a few times, and it never failed to make me lose respect for the person doing the slapping.
I mean, if that's your choice of an appropriate response to anything, you have a long way to go.

For myself, I choose peace, and walked away from those trying to pick fights with me. And yes, I fully understand how lucky I am to have been in the position to walk away.

Posted using Partiko Android

Hi! Thanks - and I'm sorry that you went through the same thing... though you have to say it certainly changes your outlook on life and what's important and who is important to you. I was the same for many years- choosing peace and walking away. But about 7 years into it, I was slapped and saw red. I lost control and I knocked out my bully with one swift punch. I was never bullied again. Oops! :) E x

Good for you!!! And I mean that sincerely.

At 5'2" tall, I wasn't convinced I could do the same, especially since most of my bullies were a LOT bigger than I was, and I was pretty certain that I'd just piss them off even more.

So, cowardice being the better part of valor, I chose not to fight. ;-)

I do agree that it changes your perspective, pretty drastically, and in my case made me both more compassionate, and more unwilling to put up with that crap, or to stand by and see it done to others.

Haha- thank you! It certainly gave me a bit of a reputation for a while... but frankly, I rather liked being left to my own devices after it had happened!

I'm nearer 6ft - it was my bullies that were the shorter ones. That was the problem when I snapped. I'm quite strong so I was just thankful I didn't do serious damage to the girl!

And you're so right, it does change perspective- I cannot stand to see it being done to others- but I definitely still have that button where I submit to bullying behaviour- it still has the power to knock the wind out of my sails, and I have to remind myself that I'm now in my 30s- not in my teens- and that I don't have to take it anymore! Strange how these things can impact us for a lifetime!

E x

They can indeed.

Then again, I'm grateful for all that has happened in my life, because everything has taught me, and has made me who I am today. For better or worse, lol!

My husband was more in your camp, at 6' 3" he was constantly challenged by other guys, but when they really pushed him, usually all he had to do was to stand up, and they would generally fade into the woodwork. ;-)

Which was a good thing in the long run because, truly, he is naturally one of the gentlest souls I've ever known. ;-)

Hahahaha ... the vinegar fumes have killed off most of your creative brain cells? Lol ... Never ever! You have lots lots lots ....

Oh yeah, I remember happening the same to me in school frequently. Maybe this is the way strong, creative persons are born ...
xx

It's sad, but maybe you're right- having to fend for ourselves and scuttle off to hang out in the art rooms and library at lunchtimes certainly fuelled the old imagination.
E x

Yeah ... was getting in my little lovely world in my daydreams then ... created my own holy place in my mind ... free from nasty characters that were around in school plenty. Coped with that quite a long time ... until I needed to sent out a little lion roar ... :)
xx

Hurrah for lion roars! They can be such brilliant moments- stopping the whole world in their tracks for a while :)

oh my goodness - i'm telling you.

i think i'm seeing our connections in WW right and left LOLOL what makes us special :)

what unites us in our thinking... hehehehe and @anutu's roar always makes me giggle

in the middle of a setence he will just say roar and continue speaking. hahahahaha i love it!!!

Just picture this for a moment, we three walking in a row ... suddenly and without notice ... when needed ... roarrrrrrr ... there we go ... :)

the roar!!!!!!

you know I'm a Leo too??? so the roar comes naturally! heheheh

hahaha, yes, it comes naturally ... roar ... !!!!!! lol!

I think the post is a post reading for everyone. Thank you

Gosh, @eveningart! I love the book that points the 42 answer to meanings in life out. Thank you for mentioning it.

Haha! Can't beat it, right?!

Precisely!
