I had random idea one day, thinking about consciousness and what it truly is. How we perceive reality, what is reality, what makes reality.... and I had this idea.
Imagine this. You're ten years old and you're at a small pond. You pick up a rock, looking out at the motionless surface of the calm water that mirrors the sky. Spontaneously, you throw the rock into the pond. The surface is disturbed and ripples of waves expand outwards and the stone falls straight through and sinks to the bottom.
Think of consciousness as being the stone. Above water, let's say, is a completely different dimension. Below, another dimension. The rock sinks through to rest at the bottom. Think of the bottom of the pond as a vessel, or something which our consciousness is able to clingy or rest on temporarily. Here's where I am going with this...
I had the idea that maybe life is just our conscious mind falling through each dimension infinitely. We have this physical body which is the vessel that allows for our consciousness to remain in this dimension for a period of time until the vessel is no longer able to contain the consciousness. Now imagine if that pond was now the middle of the ocean. The rock has more time to sink until it eventually finds its way to the ocean floor. But lets say there are different trenches and valleys that the rock may land on that are at different levels. It would be possible for the rock to rest on one level for a period of time until it was moved somehow to continue sinking down further into the abyss (or moved/pulled up higher towards the surface as well.....?). Lets say once it got to the ocean floor, there was a new dimension that it fell through to yet again and so on forever. So our "soul" could possibly stay in this universe for an indefinite amount of time until it sunk through completely to the next one (or go straight to the next after the vessel dies). The conciseness wouldn't have any control over this, it would be a completely different force pull/pushing it to continue its course on through what we can't even comprehend.
Just curious as to what other people would think about this...

Thank you! Sorry for the late response, I just got back on here just now, I really appreciate it! My goal is to focus on music/guitar/recording related posts mostly, but occasionally I like to share other thoughts and things that go on in my life
