Budget Hotel and Designer Shoes

I talk a lot about finding balance; in photography, time management, life, and this is one of those things again.

I like nice things, quality clothing and designer shoes, not hiding that passion from anyone. I know a lot of people don't care about material things, but I do, they make me feel better. If you are the complete opposite, we will never understand each other and there is no use on trying to tell me that material things don't matter. In a way they don't I know, but it's the feeling I get from them, and I like it. If I'm feeling a little down, I can slip on something nice and I instantly feel better.

Some people think I am rich because I buy nice things, but I am not, at least not in Finland. In some third world country I would be, I am well aware of that, but Finland is expensive. What I am is good at prioritising and balancing, like the fact that I stayed in a crappy hotel room with @escapist, and in the same trip I bought a pair of shoes from a Finnish designer Minna Parikka, that I had been drooling over.

My living costs are not that expensive in general, I don't spend much money for food, because I'm tiny and I just lay in bed, and I hardly ever use money for gas or public transportation. I can go for a long time of not using much money, and then when I feel like buying something nice or travelling, I don't have to worry about counting pennies. It's all about finding balance and what I need and want in life.

And about the shoes, they are high quality satin, cute with a little sex appeal, and they feel like slippers, not kidding! As soon as the new collection from Minna Parikka came out this spring and I saw them, I knew I needed them in my life. Funny thing, somehow they reming me of @reinhard-schmid's work, and now every time I wear them, it makes me think of him. 😘

Ps. How do we feel about the print in the wall of the budget hotel, which interior btw was pretty much red plastic otherwise. I think the interior doesn't make any sense and it hurst my eyes and my soul! But had to make a sacrifice to afford the shoes...
