Vlog 276: The London crypto currency show was fantastic!

Today I went to visit the London Crypto Currency show at the Novotel in West London.

It was fantastic.

The presentation given by the STEEM promo team was by far the best.

I especially liked that after explaining why this blockchain is so good (3 second block times, more transactions than any other blockchain for instance) they gave projects and bloggers time to tell their story and pitch their projects (Utopian.io, Steempress, eSTEEM, Appics).

After the presentation the Promo STEEM stand was buzzing.

And I realised something.

All the other stands are companies with a project (that might be awesome) but with no community or engagement at all.

Some of the stands were empty for almost the whole day.

And that's where STEEM is so different.

We have the user base and the mindset to embrace new projects built on top of the blockchain.

And with SMT's this will only increase.

Excellent video, thank you for being there as our reporter to give an insight what actually happened on London Crypto show. Was waiting for that video, but for some reason did not see it yesterday. Hi @exyle ! I totally agree with you! And the #promo-steem and @steem-ambassador project is a huge one. @starkerz @stepehenkendal and @anarcotech were the ones that got this great oportunity (stand for free) and time on the big stage for all the steem ecosystem!

The @steem-amabassador guild is a huge project and deserves to get SP Delegation from big stakers on Steem.

Great blog @exyle . Pity that the main people behind the whole arranging and instigation of the show did not get much recognition for all their efforts. @stephenkendal, @starkerz, @anarcotech (@prom-steem). These individuals had dedicated a considerable amount of time to put this stand and presentations together not forgetting the phenomenal amount of their own personal money which amounted to thousands of pounds. Why are non of the large investors (the ones that can really boost and influence these individuals 'voting pot') not giving them their 'up vote'? Without the 'up votes, steemit run the risk of these people not continuing with their tireless quest to make Steem and Steemit the greatest platform and crypto currency on the planet! Hope this makes sense. Yvonne

Afterall steemit is getting to this 1 mil. users milestone. If you think about it, it’s just a drop in the ocean compared to Facewhat. But the potential is incomparable. It’s the other way where FB is the drop in the ocean. Steemit is fun and exciting platform with motivation and a huge potential. Just when you mentioned these empty stands of other platforms.lol

Really cool to hear about the STEEM stand creating the most buzz - and why shouldn't that be the case! :D

Appics may help on-boarding IF they can grab some of the instagram market share - shouldn't be so hard if you are earning some STEEM for doing the same thing.

@exyle, I am so happy to be a part of something as unique as steemit. What grabbed me the most was the fact that despite the numerous and varied cryptocurrency projects that were on ground at the show, only steemit had more users present. Nothing can beat a supportive community; nothing!

Definitely the cryptocurrency show experience will bring in more investors and more positivity for the steem blockchain. Though I am not an early adaptor,it is an exciting feeling to sit and watch the floodgates open.

Another thing that totally caught me was the Steempress project. I have not heard of it either and I find it quite interesting in so many ways;

Those who are not too good with the markdown codes or are not eager to learn a new one, can easily use html on their wordpress post and it would still look good on steemit.
It will definitely generate more traffic and registration as well as investment on the steem blockchain because popular blogs who join steemit through the wordpress option, would bring their followers with them. There is nothing as sweet as word of mouth advertising especially if it is unpaid.
This also means that more people are taking the steemit platform serious.
We are just going places and I can see apps like appics on the steem blockchain taking a lot of market share from regular social media. All in all, something to be excited about.

Glad to know that engagement of many enthusiastic steemians made the London crypto show successful. Promo-steem team @stephenkendal @starkerz and all team efforts are laudable. Steempress seems to be great Plugin with wordpress attracts more blogger on this platform and helps to promote steem. Thanks for sharing all the stuff related to London crypto Show. Hopefully you will complete all levels (9) of ghouls and ghosts keep sharing @exyle

Thanks for sharing with us some views from inside the block chain conference. It sure does look like it was a lot of fun with lots of people to meet and lots of crypto stuff to learn. I do agree that the future prospects for steem and associated projects is bright- we have so much to look forward to :)

Thank you so much for coming @exyle. As you say, a vibrant, engaged, intelligent, thoughtful and positive community is the most important thing that any blockchain could have. And the STEEM blockchain has it all, in spades. There is something very special about the whole community here, and there is such incredible diversity.
