Eating delicious Indonesian snacks and Nasi at @s3rg3 house made by his wife @missmau.

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

From all the wives and girlfriends in the @blockbrothers group there has been one that wanted nothing to do with Steemit for a long time!

I'm talking about my friend and fellow blockbrothers @s3rg3 wife, called Maura.

She always told me that she would never enjoy blogging because she did not enjoy other Social Media.

I know my friend @s3rg3 is very good at getting new people on board (I wrote about it on several occasions) and at the beginning of the year a wonderful thing happened.

She finally decided to give it a go here. Here username is @missmau.

Low and behold since then she has not missed a single day of blogging and she has been posting every day! She likes it.

She often posts about food and mostly Indonesian food.

I like food from all over the world

I send @s3rg3 a message yesterday saying to him that I never knew he ate so well at home!

He smiled:)

Why don't you come and taste he said!

Bianca and I said yes of course!

Tonight we went there for some Indonesian Snacks and Nasi.

IMG_0198.jpg

My friend @s3rg3 loves wine. Because it's still weekend I had a glass or two.

IMG_0191.jpg

The first snack @missmau served was this is dim-sum, called pork siu mai.

IMG_0194.jpg

Next up was rissoles, a fried pastry filled with chicken and vegetables.

IMG_0196.jpg

Then it was time for the main course. Nasi! A dish that I absolutely love and often make myself but not this good! Wow! This Nasi is made in the way her grandmother used to make it here and it was delicious. She served it with an egg on top and a piece of meat called frikadelpan here that takes 2 days to make!

IMG_0203.jpg

By now something strange is happening. I'm bursting at the seams. I'm 100% full.....and at that moment desert is served! I'm not one to shy away from a challenge so I buckle up and prepare. Steemfat3 is a temporarily distant memory. First thing to be noticed! This food is unusually green. It's traditionally food coloured in that way. It's a light cake served with Dadar Unti (A pancake filled with something that taste like cocos) and banana ice-cream. O man!

IMG_0213.jpg

After all that @S3rg3 makes one of the best home coffees that I know. He has this amazing machine he bought not too long ago and he mastered it.

IMG_0214.jpg

IMG_0216.jpg

IMG_0217.jpg

While drinking the coffee we talk about Steemit of course. We all have a lot of fun on here and I'm happy for @s3rg3 that his wife is on board now. He told me they often write together at night on their stories! How cool is that.

When the coffee is finished we go home relatively early. It's Sunday after all and tomorrow a new week starts again!

I sure have enough fuel in my body to hit the gym hard tomorrow! :)

Thanks guys!

You are the right guy for this kind of post.
I like the dessert, little green cake and ice cream.
That was a delicious sunday.
Keep on steemin'

I felt connected to you right away - first we have been eating indonesian food today as well - we went to a market where you get food from around the world prepared by natives.

And second - same story with my wife. I wasn’t able to get her onboarded until a friend of mine came by. A few days ago she (@solenn) wrote her first introduction post! Sometimes you really need some good friends I guess!

That's great man! And does help indeed. I checked out your wife's first post. My German is a bit rusty (I'm dutch) but I got most of it! You must be happy she's on board!

Thanks for giving her a good start - we appreciate that.

For her first post she felt more secure writing German but she likes to switch to english soon - also to keep their english active.

Have a great day!

Pork siu mai is my favorite food here in the philippines @exyle i hope i can eat that indonesian siu mai.. :)

I really enjoy how you share these "slices of regular life" in your posts, @exyle. Of course Steemit is awesome because there is lots of "great" content, things to educate us and so on... but it's also really nice to get more of a direct look at the lives of the people behind the words. SO thank you for sharing that!

Thank you, man.

nice info... check my post please

Keep rocking man .... Enjoy 😉 .. and keep streaming 👍🏼❤️😀

I’m suddenly hungry hahaha.
I didn’t enjoy blogging too until I joined here
It’s been an experience on a whole new level

Me too . There are so-o-o many delightful choices here, that it's kinda like a Smorgasbord

Hope that u Enjoy a fulfilling journey here at #Steemit !

Take care

Thank you @janashby 😀😀
You too .

Dimsum, Pork, #WINE, Pancakes - goodness sakes, You're making me awfully HUNGRY !

This is a fabulous post, filled with Charm and Details ♦♦ Have never tried Nasi, and I sure never heard of this thing called "frikadelpan" !!

Dang, that'd SURE never get made at my House, as it takes 2 whole days ! (ha)

Pretty much the ONLY time I take that much care & patience in creating a Fancy #FOOD item is #Thanksgiving or #Christmas !

#STEEMIT #FRIENDS #WRITERS #FOOD

if you want to make it i think it is not too difficult

@exyle,
Nasi one of my favorite :D Is this one a little spicy? Wow @missmaura looks genius in making indo foods! Thanks for sharing this amazing experience with us!

Cheers~

Bof jij even. This food really looks delicious!

It sure was!

looking good and delicious... I wonder if steemfat 3 will succeed with all those nice posts I see..

It's always a struggle in the weekend to be honest. I do much better during the week.

Now I am starving. Everything looked sooooooo delicious!!!

Time to light the BGE and get some food into my belly.

Do it man! Is it still so cold there?

We have had a two day reprieve where the temp has climbed a little above freezing. Tomorrow, it’s going back to -16 though. ☹️

Bbbrrr...that's cold! Enjoy your BGE tonight though!

Sure the glass of wine wasn't a 3rd hehe, I haven't heard of it and never thought it would take 2 days to prepare wow, interesting for that colouring blueberries are often used in cakes oh it does looks yummy but steem fat 3 is suffering lol @exyle

It really takes that long sometimes, and I am the one to know....I' smell delicious things for two days when she is cooking!

excellent post dear friend @exyle loaded with emotions and good bribra.
How beautiful it is to have good friends who are close and share the same passion, Steemit and good food. Here in my province of Corrientes I am the only one who is on the platform, I want to make others enter, but they look at me as if I came from another planet, here in my town, living on the web is tabu.
Thank you very much for opening the doors to your private lives
I wish you a wonderful week

Always fun when friends join. Then you can talk together about everything that steemit has to offer.

Yes! There is so much potential here!

What an Amazing team the @blockbrothers are supporter by. Without the womans the team cant be as good ss they are.
Nice to see that it is one big family; and what a delicious dinner you had. The color from the cake looks spacy 😉

I was surprised by the color too!

Its not difficult to blog and enjoy it on Steemit. Its like a full community here, so whatever one is passionate about, just come online and blog about it. You will be surprised at how many people actually have interest in it. Glad she enjoyed it here.

And, I wish you can send me some of those through Bluetooth or maybe infrared ...... have a great time man

Thank you @exyle for your compliment. I've been telling you for months that Steemit is nothing for me. But due to the enthusiasm of you, @s3rg3, @blockbrothers,
@eqko & @bennierex I introduced myself to the world of Steemit.
I'm glad that I've found my love back for cooking through making blog posts on Steemit!
Unfortunately, there will be one CandyCrush developer less by King since I am a Steemian.

Lol, well we’re happy you are on board too @missmau!

Thanks for an awesome night and happy to have you on board!

This food looks scrumptious! No wonder Steemfat 3 went out the window! I wouldn't be able to resist either. If you friend eats like this every day then he not only eats well, he is a lucky man!

A very lucky man!

Damn, I made Thai tonight and thought I was full until I read this and am hankering after a proper Nasi now!

Nothing wrong with Thai food either! And for the record, I'm happy my wife has stopped her candycrush addiction to start cooking again!

Hehe, that is very good news for you!

Excellent post and it's nice to see you regularly meet with your friends and it's great way to release some stress and friend the food which they served is absolutely amazing especially the nasi and fried pastry with chicken and vegetable looks so tasty and delicious and i hope it also taste great, i also like the color and end result of that home made coffee, thanks for sharing such amazing occasions with us and wish you a very joyful and cheerful week ahead, Stay awesome

timpan-kue-aceh_20150917_210222.jpg

Coming up next Steemfat4!

Lol.... yeaaaaa

Nice. But I need to go and find something to eat because the food did look amazing.

I love southeast Asian food. Very refreshing and so delicious! Good way to end the week and plenty of energy to hit it hard tomorrow at the gym!

That dessert looks absolutely amazing! Sign me up for banana ice cream...

Food and fellowship makes great company, enjoy!!!

Mark @exyle that is such good looking food. I just gained 20 pounds while reading this BLOG Post......

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Low and behold since then she has not missed a single day of blogging and she has been posting every day! She likes it.

Yea you are not alone in this. I have had so many people who said they hated blogging because they knew not what to write but once they give it a try. They become addicted .

Steemit can actually be addictive.a lot of great articles and posts to read . A lot of new stuffs to learn . A Lot of great people to meet. It has made me personally forget that other social media platforms exist and I am not sorry about that .

Steemit is da bomb

By the way, Bianca is a beauty...wow!!!

keep steeming

Oh yes, it's good news that another participant joined us and therefore I welcome the @missmau and I wish her creative successes and good luck in our common cause! I see that you have perfectly celebrated this event, had a great time in a friendly company for a bottle of good wine and a cup of coffee, this is a great time! Thank you Mark and keep us informed of what's happening!

Good food is good!! I've never tried Indonesian food before but from the look of it, i guess it tasted delicious. I think i like the nasi... it looks good!

Keep rocking man , am salivating already @exyle

wow.. great looks. red wine was my favorite :) Bon Appetit @exyle

Just from the photo I will say the food is delicious and the fact that you posted it show that is truly delicious. The visit to her place really worth all the effort because the Indonesian food and the wine require effort on her part to prepare. Although I have not eaten Indonesian food, there is a food I have eaten which I believe you have not tasted at all . The food is my favorite food called egusi soup with pounded yam. I posted the recipe on my blog, while not check my blog to see what I am talking about, believe me you will find it interesting to try.

@exyle, am salivating..... Help

every post make me feel hungry

Ha ha ha!!! @exyle, you see sometimes it takes a little persuasive push to relocate some persons from their "comfort zones". Your guys did exactly that to @missmau . There's a quote that says: " a mind that opens to new ideas never returns to its original size". Looking forward to reading her blog posts.

Always fun meeting your friends after some time, iam sure you are propagating steemit in the process.

Weekend really ended on a great note have a great day buddy ahead and wishing you all the best

This looks really delicious one of the best day you had well the food looks really amazing and the people too are very nice : )

That shu-mai, it's shu-mai made of chicken. No pork at all. The brand is Fiesta. It's really delicious, you can either steam or fry it to cook it. I know it, the appearance looks familiar to me. I'm an Indonesian.

If you're in Indonesia and looking for fried rice for cheap but taste better, best if you buy it from vendors. Not at restaurants, expensive. But it's fine if you want fried rice with more spices. Some restaurants serves the same style as vendors in more expensive price.

Nasi just means rice, cooked rice. Beras is uncooked rice, when nasi is cooked rice. What do you mean is nasi goreng. Goreng means fry.

If you want, eat nasi goreng with martabak (murtabak). I always eat martabak with rice. Martabak is best served when it's cold, more delicious than when it's hot and crispy. No lying, experience makes me know if it's better eaten in cold.

foodie in the house

Wow! @missmau ... 46 posts in a month is some way to get on board in style!
This is so different to bog standard social media, right?
Glad you had a nice meal @exyle. Have you recovered yet? ;-D
