Grateful for new friends. Learning from the Brazilian culture.

Now that Bianca is preparing to go to Brazil and I can’t with her this time it has made me think a lot about how she has changed my life.

She has changed my life in so many ways and one of them is introducing me to new people.

me
Bianca managed to make more friends in the Netherlands in 2 years than I managed in 33 years. It has 100% to do with culture.

Brazilian culture is very welcoming. When I went to Brazil to meet her family, I felt at home the moment I met them. I stayed for 3 weeks. Dutch culture is 'colder', less inviting. It took Bianca some good effort to break through that at first.

Bianca's uncle took me to this nice bar. In the same street where her dad lives. (we stayed there). I had so much fun there that I also went on my own sometimes. I wish we had this in the Netherlands because it's one of those simple things that I like

One or two days before I had to leave I was sitting alone outside. We just had a meal and her family was inside. I realized I didn’t want to lose that feeling of belonging. I didn’t want to go home.

From nowhere tears started to roll down my face. I think I never felt more grateful than in that moment.

An emotional gringo in the yard must have short circuited her whole family because they didn’t know how to handle this. I think I could hear them all discussing what to do.

When Bianca asked, what was wrong. I said: I just feel happy.

Ele está feliz! (He’s happy!)

The whole family lets out a sigh of relieve. Things were normal again.

me
I think this was that night. I bought nice meat for the whole family for a party as a thank you and here I'm trying to prepare it. It was tough. This type of grill was unknown to me.

Party last night

So yesterday I was at a birthday party and I realized that none of the people there I would have met if it wasn’t for Bianca. And I like all of them.

I was sitting on the couch looking around and thought this is sort of like a second chance for me.

I wasted most of my 20’s with videogames and although I’m ancient now in the group it’s something I can live with.

It's just too much fun.

Brazil sounds amazing as well as Bianca and her family. You are truly blessed, bro and I'm sure the two of you will be jetting off there together next time. :)

Man, that is the plan! Released from the shackles and off to Brasil! :)

Have always heard that Brazil is a fascinating country with its rich culture and heritage. Would really love to go there in the near future!

PS: Love your emotional breakdown at Bianca's family home, haha ...

lol, I think they will never forget that breakdown, lol! It's a great country I hope you can visit it someday!

Yeah, Brazilians might be the freindliest people in the world! I have studied with some and I learned that they have no insecurities when it comes to meeting new people. I just love Brazilian culture.

That part of the Brazilian culture is amazing! I learned a lot from it.

Brazil is such a wonderful culture. Dancing, singing, loving. It is amazing. I spent two months in Brazil and will never forget it.

I spend 3 weeks there and I'll never forget it! It's a wonderful country. I hope I'll be able to visit again soon.

I bet you will, and if you do, let me know!
