Steepshot for iOS has been released and it's awesome. here.
The Android version has been out for a while.
Steepshot is an Instagram clone for the steem blockchain.
It's simple, to the point and fun. I will use it from time to time to create content for my blog.
Chainbb.com is shutting down
Witness and developer @jesta has announced that Chainbb will be shutting down here.
I often used it as a tool to quickly go through my older blog posts because on steemit.com I can't scroll back to my first blog. It stops after 9 months.
All the code is open source so I'm hoping someone will pick it up.
He has refunded anyone that invested in a forum, myself included, and that's really nice.
I talk about it more in my vlog.

As I haven't been here for nine months yet I might go back and look at my earlier posts to see if there is anything I want to make a note of now. I've been meaning to do that anyway. Although maybe someone else, as you say will take over, chainbb.com.
I can't wait until the trending and hot pages are actually meaningful. Bring on the SMTs.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you guys all meet up at the train station. It's great how you all met at Steemfest. I hope the next one will be in Europe too so I can go! 😊

@exyle I saw @ackza mention that Chainbb was shutting down. That is OK because there are so many different App's on the STEEM Block Chain and there will be many more to come. Not to Worry it just gets Better and Better from Here..........................

It's sad to see chainbb closing up, it really helped me see my old post, I don't know if it's a bad omen but I do hope it gets back up and running.

that's good to know that steepshot is doing lot of work everyday and taking developments to new high level that has been going great so far that's the beauty of steem blockchain everything is open sourced so i guess chainbb will be picked up by someone and will be started again hopes are high :)

The closing of ChainBB makes me wonder if there is any future for the old school Forum-Style community. Those were huge back in the day and still survive on to some extent but it seems like it would be hard to build a new community on that model.
Steemit and Busy, by contrast, use a Reddit/Digg model. And now Steepshot is an Insta clone. These are the new models it looks like.

It is sad that a great project Chainbb had ended its service. It is quite a blow to users who use it on a daily basis. I'm on the same page with you that someday a hardworking soul will surely resurrect the project albeit with a different name. Upvoted!

I wonder sometimes if the frontends are really necessary. Like you can already post a photo with a caption on Steemit. This is more of a UI decision rather than what's actually possible on the platform. Definitely helps with mobile though, I just don't care about mobiles because I'm PC master race lol.
