My secret weapon to defeat @ezzy at Streetfighter V has arrived

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

In my continued effort to beat @ezzy at street fighter V, I realized that a controller wouldn't do the trick.

Growing up being part of the PC gaming master race I never got accustomed to controllers in the way @ezzy has.

For him, it's an extension of his body, but for me, it's just a device that hurts my thumbs after a while. Especially with this game where timing and control mean everything.

The problem is that it's pretty tough to play a fighting game like Streetfighter with a mouse and keyboard. I would even say impossible.

I, therefore, had to go back in my mind. To a place where I learned to play Street Fighter II in the first place.

The arcade.

Arcades were so amazing back then. A place to play games with better graphics than at home.

Just looking at a picture of Street Fighter II fills my heart with nostalgia. It's such an Iconic game.

It was the first fighting game where it was possible to select different characters to fight with and when it hit the arcades it was screaming success.

I loved it.

The place where I used to play Street Fighter II still exists but it's no longer filled with games but slot machines.

It's hard to compete with home consoles I guess.

Just look at these graphics nowadays.

I never knew this until I started looking into it (search google: how to get better at streetfighter). But a lot of pro players use a fight stick to play and not a controller.

Just like the good old days!

This is what I needed! I ordered one after some research. It works perfectly on PC.

@ezzy you better prepare!

"Forget Mayweather vs McGregor. Now we got Ezzy vs Exyle! Save those steemdollars and get your tickets right here! Roll up, roll up, for the greatest "Steemit" grudge match of the century!" :)

(p.s. There sure is a lot of "trash talk" against me here, lol).

LOL! Everyone loves you, too man.

I was also born into the PC Master Race. I don't think I've ever owned a console before except for some handheld consoles and a WII but a Wii isn't really that difficult to use and is nothing like a XBOX or PlayStation controller haha.

Yesterday I was playing Tekken as I went over to one of my friend's house and they absolutely wiped the floor with me. I had some lucky moment when my amazing well-calculated BUTTON SMASHING got me a couple of wins. Sometimes I accidentally find out how to do a move and everyone watches in awe while in reality, I have no idea what I am doing.

I remember the good old days of going to the arcade and having endless amount of fun on all the machine and hopefully this will do the trick in beating @ezzy in streetfighter.

I haven't played the new streetfighter but from the sceenshots it does look absolutely spectacular graphically compared to the past. It really does go to show how far we have come just in a couple of decades.

Well let us know @exyle if you ever are able to beat ezzy with the joystick haha! :)

It's a very beautiful game but emotionally it just can't compete with Streetfighter II.

It's a great idea to play with an input device that you are much comfortable with using. For the longest time, I used to play flight simulator and fighter pilot games with a controller. However, I had a lot more success with those types of games after I bought a flight joystick with a throttle. I definitely think this new secret weapon of yours will improve your performance in Street Fighter.

I'm already playing better.

I still remember, many many years ago you (age 6) and your older brother (age 10) made a list with only one present you wanted to have for Sinterklaas (a Dutch feast where children get presents (see @Clio my post about Sinterklaas). There was only one thing you two wanted to have: A NINTENDO, TO PLAY SUPER MARION BROS. those were the days!!!!!
Nothing's changed really!!

I'm pretty sure it was my brother convincing me I needed an NES. I didn't even know what it was. We started playing games on this Remember :)

You are probably right!

@exyle,
Ha ha ha that's funny dude! You are still trying to beat that guy ah? I thought you did last time :D Okay now you have a new weapon :D Yeah let's hope you will win this time!
"@ezzy you better prepare!"

Cheers~

Still trying!

Ooo shiny. I remember rageing over Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat games while I was younger and my friends were beating me on those games. Great memories. Nice toy you got there @exyle.

I used to tilt a lot playing when I was longer too. Now I try to learn from every loss instead.

I agree with you @Exyle, they are better suited to computer games, because of their ease of use and all the functions are in one place. The game often needs fast response and action, which is difficult on home computers :)

very nice sir, i hope now you are fully equipped to beat him, you fully prepared your gadgets now, i wish for your success in the next game.

wow this device really remind me year of 94 while i was at 1st class of a school and wasted my time after school at streetfighter 1-2 in video game machine.(slot machines)
i hope you will kick @ezzy ass soon

It's a great device!

An arcade stick would be amazing to play with and if I ever have enough spare cash for one, I will get it for all fighting games on the PC. Good luck and I hope you get a lot better and beat lots of people!

Thanks!

Well done man, i love this controller looks so easy to use and yes it's true that by using keyboard and mouse its impossible to beat someone on street fighter because on keyboard there are lots of small button and while playing this game we need to react on time with fast reflexes and by using that controller i am sure you do well against @ezzy, by the way my favorite character in street fighter is Ryu what's yours, wish you a good luck.

I'm busy mastering Zangief.

@ezzy vs @exyle - the heavyweight steemianship battle will begin soon. Tied your belt & get ready. Now it's time to bet for the winner.

I wish to resteem this post, hope steemainship will begin soon Sir.

That thing is OF THE HINGE man. Damn that looks good and brings back memories to the age of arcade. @ezzy better watch out. @Exyle is oggling to be King of SF !!

Hehe just reminded my old times when i was playing tekken 2 , king of fighters :)) u missed my school and used my launch money just to play these games )

Boys and Toys! Good for you. Try not to ever lose that playful competitive instinct.

Thanks, I will try not to :)

Hahaha the memories. I've never actually grown up with them but it must have been so fun and exciting going to a place where you could enjoy yourself with others. Nowadays everyon just sits at home when playing games.

I remember those days of afternoons spent in arcades. I never got used to playing with controllers. Thumbs didn't want to play nicely. lol But my sons play like they were born with controllers in their hands...

Damn that thing is big lol. I'v seen a documentary about streetfighter (at least I believe it was streetfighter, not sure ^^) where those pro's were using arcade's to play against one another. But never have I seen such a big gaming pad before xD

It's actually very comfortable to use.

you played it smart huhh @ezzy good luck heheh :D just kidding

What happened with "I quit video games so I can focus on my business"? Just kidding. It seems that you are going to kick his ass :))

lol! I know. But this challenge transcends gaming now.

Haha, nice, good luck then :)) I put my bet on you.

I had a lot of people that went to street fighter tournaments and they competed with those as well. It was pretty awesome watching them play.

nice share @exyle ... that funny
follow me back please :)

Street Fighter, HADOOOOUKKKKEN

I was very bad at these fighting games, I loved only mario and contra in my childhood days. After that I was addicted to NFS and GTA.

Those were great. I don't even know how could we finish games like Mario or Contra without saves/loads so easily. I tried it again a few years ago on PC for a bit of nostalgy and I had to quick save/quick load in every minute...:D

Thank you for post.

cool stuff man, great post thank you :) take care .!

So this is the secret weapon you talked about last week? I thought it was going to be some kind of modified controller, but this is even better!
Watch out @ezzy!

Perfect.......!

Good game

Olden days are golden days

David my friend great seeing your posts here!!! keep them coming @exyle

Hope you get the victory

Street fighter 😀

I play almost this, it is the new perso and stage. Especially since they are not limited in time like the pack capcom pro tour that is for me cool especially with the new stage and limited in time. , but I confess I preferred a unlocking system to the old like when I was buttoned.

<3 reminds me of my past playing street fighter all day night lol

I remember the good old day's of the year 2000, honestly we cut class to play this one
