I'm very happy today. Must be because I had a great weekend with a lot of fun. Perfect to start the week.
My friend Fabio was one of the last of my friends that live in the Netherlands to sign up to Steemit. He did so yesterday.
He's now waiting for approval and that was a nice reminder of how much I look forward to HF20. When this will be instant.
When it all comes together
Being a Steemian from fairly early on it's easy to see how much the Steem blockchain has improved over the course of 14 months.
From just a simple blogging platform with a token, it's now grown into a full social media platform with its own digital currency.
I say currency because STEEM and the STEEM DOLLAR are now actively being used to buy goods and services on the Steem blockchain.
Of course, the Steem blockchain is far from being completed. But it's growing and actively being developed on a daily basis.
And unlike many blockchains out there it has a use case (today) and it's been functioning perfectly for more than a year.
I think it's wonderful to imagine what a user will get to experience 3 years from now when he signs up to the Steem blockchain.
I read an article by Fyrstikken today where he sees Steem @ $1000 one day. If that's true blogging for a couple of STEEM today is already worth it :)

That's awesome Fabio signed up for Steemit. Steemit is something I feel now that you have to experience to fully appreciate and understand. May his journey with Steemit and the entire steem block chain be fruitful!
I definitely think $1000 Steem is possible. It's quite hard to wrap your mind around when you first think about it, but after you give it some thought, it's not that hard to imagine. When you think of the many day to day uses Steem has, and all the problems it can solve as just a currency, it kind of shocks you. I've given a lot of thought as to what is more valuable, the Steem block chain platform with Steemit, Dtube, Zappl, Dsound, etc... or Steem as a global currency. They're all tremendously valuable, but as a currency there's really no ceiling. A stock for example has a definitive floor and ceiling as far as value of the company goes, but a currency does not, it can go as high or as low depending on the faith users have in it. It's quite interesting to ponder, and as you said, Steem now has a year long case study to show it's definitely a viable currency and medium of exchange. Steem has so many positives going for it, hopefully as time passes Steemit will be seen as much more than just a blogging site and people will begin to understand the many real world uses for Steem.
I've also thought of how crypto in general could be seen as a very important medium by governments to help boost economies. People are hurting all over the world financially, and central banks are printing money into oblivion which sooner or later will result in runaway inflation, crypto could help bridge this gap by creating additional currency and value without having to deflate the fiat currency. Since presently you have to convert crypto to fiat to get real world use out of it today, this model could be advantageous to governments to help ease monetary policy and give much needed relief. Whether they will look at it like this who knows, but it really is a solution that could help if they look at it with an open mind. Looking at it in these terms, a globally accepted crypto could become worth many trillions of dollars. It blows the mind but isn't that far fetched at all.

Great vlog, brother! And yes, it's damn obvious to me that $1000 is a possibility. Though currently, I reckon lower steem helps those that have less, to gradually build up their accounts. As once that ship has sailed, it ain't ever coming back. So it all depends on what side of the fence you sit on.
I've also been seeing a few comments regarding such futuristic, inflated steem prices as ridiculous or impossible. That's utter crap. You just gotta look at the huge eco-systems slowly converging together. It's happening before our very eyes, but will take time. So patience is the name of this game here. It'll be no good wishing we hadn't got rid of our steem at that point. When all the signs point to hodling on to it AT THIS VERY MOMENT! Present actions shape our future and emotions can so easily cloud our judgement, blindly gravitating us towards instant gratification. Steem is a long-term investment, end of. And should be treated as such. Your "older" self will thank you for it! :)

@ezzy I think the lower price is great for now...just learned of Steem recently and currently one of those that wants an opportunity to grow my account ;) . Honestly have no idea if $1000 is possible, but really don't care for now as I love the concept of having a vested interest in creating good content and being a productive member of the community.

It totally is, it was recently when someone was discussing coins with me and they said something about a coin and I thought hang on, its not got a platform yet. Then they mentioned another and again I thought. They dont even have a real wallet yet and it just dawned on me that here we have this living breathing thing that is actually working and has been for quite some time!

$1000 Steem price? :O Steem is improving crazy fast but isn't that way too much? ~800x growth? Don't get me wrong, I would love it but that's a hell of a lot. Compared to Bitcoin's growth it's nothing but still.
If voting, payment and reward would be the same, that would mean ~$40k-$500k articles. And biggest bloggers earning like ~5-15 million $ per month.
Steem jumping up to $5 or even 10$ would be crazy good. Anything above that could be seen as the "to the moon" price but that's just my opinion. :)

I would love for Steem to be worth $1000 dollars one day. I do believe that has to be more uses for the Steem blockchain to come out before it might hit that evaluation. Things like Dtube and Zappl are great developments for the platform. I do hope that other applications are coming out which will just increase use of our platform.

It is a bit like the dreams of winning the lottery but maybe a bit more realistic one since you always win some money steeming. We don't lose anything by gathering steem power by blogging though.. so if you enjoy it, just keep doing it and you never know if some day in the next few years steemit blows up and gets to that 10,100,1000$ mark.. happy days! If not - you still made some money and learned something from it. :)

fantastic post @exyle sir, well that's very much possible that we can see steem @1K $, so if we go back to 2010 no body knows what is btc, facebook, instagram and twitter at that time i think fb has only 20K accounts but once it reaches over 70k the fb becomes a viral sort of thing and now every body knows it same thing with btc and other platforms, steem is only 1 year old and it's growth is amazing and every day peoples are joining and buying steem with great energy, and yes by having atleast 1k steem power is a great thing for a long term and you also talk about d-tube i think the developers looks into it and should able to resolve it soon and i also glad to see you friend fabio join the steemit blockchain and that's great, i hope his account's got confirmed soon. thanks for sharing

yeah that is amazing. And every time I read someone talking about being an early adopter on steemit and I see how great they are doing I always regret I never paid attention to it when I have created my account. ehehhe I guess that is my price to pay and all my fault. 1 STEEM worth a 1000 USD makes STEEM market cap worth more than 300 Billion USD. Facebook's Market Cap is 496.47Billion USD as of Sept. 8, 2017

Steem price is important indeed. I however must keep my goals to a much shorter term and more within my personal control. I hope for higher value, but my goal is to make my Steem Power grow as fast as possible. As price fluctuates and rewards change. I look to my minimum daily growth goals. I am now aiming for 1,900 . I will reach thar level soon and will then stretch for 2,000SP You gave me this goal in something you once said in your post. Thanks!

I hope you get the Dtube problem solved. I still have a problem in that I can not view Dtube videos. I always get the message that the file is corrupt. I would love steem to hit $1000 but I am not holding my breath. I am enjoying the process and if I happen to make a lot of money that is a bonus. Truth be told, my bro Mark @exyle ...I'm fairly "meh" about Steemit at this point. The homepage still looks like "meh," the price is "meh," and even though I have almost a 1000 followers, support for my blog is "meh." I find a flaw here, the issue is that many users on steemit are first bloggers and then become crypto users. Because they prefer cashing out often to their own fiat or btc, it would be difficult for steem to rise in price. Since people aren't holding onto it enough, I don't see it becoming worth a 1000 dollars in the next few years.

I readed the same blog about the 1000$ steem. But i readed many others who contradict that because of inflation and the ammount of steem added daily. None the less even if steem only goes to a 100$ it stil means a very big increase.
