Well, indirectly, anyways. Recent comments on Twitter made by the president himself, classify Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as "not real money" and used for "drug trade and other illegal activity". Well, that sweeping statement is not the true essence of reality behind the remark. I personally read it as "Trump gives enough credence to crypto that he's made a public statement about it". Remember that old adage, there is no such thing as bad publicity? Well, welcome to it's very definition courtesy of "The Donald"!
We all are fully aware of the nonsense contained in the literal translation of his tweet. Bitcoin used to facilitate drug trafficking? Well, the US dollar has been doing a fine job of that for the last several decades now. No, I'm just happy that some of the biggest and most prominent personalities on the world, are even giving it a mention at all. Funny how the masses will sit up and pay attention to these guys but not their closest family and friends. Anyways, all that is set to change and fast.
If people do even the slightest bit of research into the inherent value of what crypto currency has to offer (like we all did at some stage) then all propaganda-based fears should be alleviated. In theory, at least. It's funny that this stems from a country currently in debt to the tune of over $21 billion. But no worries. Something like Bitcoin may prove to be quite beneficial for solving a few of these financial woes. Hell, the whole thing could be one gigantic setup. Imagine if the implosion of the global debt was orchestrated and meant a hard reset to all international monies. Imagine crypto currency has been the proposed saviour all along and all the big institutions are in on it. Hell, imagine if Satoshi himself was, in fact, a codename for a governmental run top secret project to introduce a new global digital currency to the masses!
Lol, now who's spreading propaganda and probable falsehoods! Anyways, we need more people in power mentioning the keywords Bitcoin and crypto. So at least people are aware of it's existence in the first place. One thing is for sure though. The next decade or so will prove to be mighty interesting for us all. We just have to sit back, relax and let the fun unfold. :)
He clearly is afraid of it. All of the worlds wealthy likely are. The more they thrash about the bigger crypto will grow.

Since most of his comments have shown he has trouble understanding basic concepts, such as tariffs and who is supposed to pay for them, I highly doubt he would be capable of grasping the mechanisms behind blockchains and cryptocurrencies. It's probably something he heard on Fox & Friends, anyway.
