I'm pretty stoked about the great result and hope you are too. I recently wrote a post about my feelings towards this controversial poll conducted by Netcoins over the last week or so. Although no complaints about the competition itself but instead the ambiguity of behaviour in regards to the other entrant's "voting patterns". Anyways, apparently they've been called out and we are officially declared the rightful victors. The community has done themselves proud and I see this as a landmark event in the history of the Steem blockchain...
Seems like honesty has paid off at the end of the day. I mean, the damn gall of using "block voting" so blatantly and out in the open to win the contest. Disgusting, to say the least. Sorry, just had to get one final dig in. So now what? Reading through the text of their homepage, Netcoins do make some pretty ambitious claims as to what they can offer various crypto currencies and now, ours too. And I, for one, hope they can pull of as much of it as they promise. But in my mind, the main achievement of the contest has already been fulfilled. A testament to the unflinching solidarity of Steemit users when the task calls for it. That can't be underestimated and provides for an important referential point going forward.
I've read that some were hoping for a pump in the value of Steem following the contest results, especially if we got the win. But I have long put that old chestnut aside. Price will be reflected in the markets when they decide to "wake up". Crypto in general is, and has been, experiencing an prolonged period of stagnancy that will right itself in good time. Up until then, I'm doing what I can to stay afloat and I believe that's what we should all be doing. Whether it be consistently blogging, investing at the lows or hell, even sitting tight on what you've accumulated thus far. As I've banged on about for God knows how long, just be ready for the market turnaround because it will arrive with a vengeance and without warning.
So, try not to focus too much on what features get implemented via Netcoins over the coming months. Anything that furthers the good name of Steem from a third party source should be viewed as a welcome bonus in addition to everything else being developed internally. I love this community and it's inhabitants (lol, did that sound right?), including the damn trolls. I mean, I will cuss them out hard given half a chance, no doubt, but my point is that every one of us actively participating in the Steem blockchain is playing out a specific role and adding to our digital landscape. And I hope you'll agree, that is indeed something very special in witnessing that.
Therefore, now this contest is over and done with, bring on a new challenge, I say! Who knows, maybe the next one will be a place within the coveted realm of Coinbase... :)
Good thing for us they didn't go the BTCC route and just ignore the fact that some coins were blatantly cheating with bot voting, including the winner Ethereum Classic. They just picked the coin with the highest raw number of votes.
IMO we would have won that much bigger and more important poll if they had done something to counter the cheating.

Yes, I know, mate. That BTCC result was a bit of a bitter pill to swallow as we came pretty close back then too. But hey, we got time. Otherwise, hope all's well your side! :)

I was not expecting a pump up in price as the listing is really a benefit for the access in the many retail locations Netcoin have setup. In reality, it is a great utility for those of use earning Steem and looking to use for goods and services. However, it could help create liquidity but I imagine it will take some time to implement given the technology behind our wallets.
