One could imagine Mary Horomanski's surprise when she checked her electric bill online and it said she $284,460,000,000. Yes, that's more than $284 billion.
Mary Horomanski's Said:
“My eyes just about popped out of my head,” the 58-year-old told the Erie Times-News. “We
had put up Christmas lights and I wondered if we had put them up wrong.”
Her son called the company, and they confirmed it was a mistake. Fortunately, a decimal point was somehow moved, and Horomanski only owed $284.46.
A spokesperson for the electricity provider's parent company said he is unsure how how the error occurred.
Still, the scare made Horomanski rethink her Christmas wish list to her son: "I told him I want a heart monitor."
