From a star to starlight : A beautiful narrative

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

The dusk had just transpired into a starry night. Elsewhere in that area, it was darkness but the scene towards the sky told another tale. It seemed just like those Christmas lights that gave you light and hope. And my light was present some where hidden in the abode of sky just above my reach. However, I never stopped searching till I found one particular star trying to fit itself in the vast expense of its much bigger and brighter counterparts. The lights flickered continuously, once mirroring the dying flames of a candle and at other times that of a . The star had its highs and lows in terms of its shine but whatever was the driving force, it never let the glow die. Most importantly, it never let the starlight die.

Back in my camp, I had changed and slipped into a warm parka and a woolen sweater. The cold was still there, but I sure to survive the night. The Alaskan range of mountains were less of a beauty more of a death wish especially at this time of the year. But I needed a escape from the city lights and nothing would have been much better than a place which held lot of bittersweet memories with Jane. Exactly seven years ago this day, we had met over a family reunion at a place few miles from here. But boy, it was the best memory I had of her. The place served as a reminder of love and loss, temporary and permanent flow of life. But life, now, had a different taste and it was nothing like the old times. God, coming here made me realized how much I still love her. That small trip down the memory lane made me little emotional and suffocated. More than her, I had promised myself to stay strong. Before I could muster the courage to think of anything else, I went out and stood by the exit of the camp.

I took a deep breath and looked towards the heavens. There she was smiling and looking at me with those adorable eyes that I had longed to see before coming to this place. Now that she had seen me here, her star twinkled with much more intensity. She was sweet. She was happy.pr49162-640x640-b-p-000000.jpg
