Figure Skits - A Lesson in Momentum

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

A while back, I was tired because of work. I work far from home, by the way. It’s about 2 ½ to 3 hours travel from our house. Anyway, I’ve been wanting to post this for a wee bit but I was expecting to have some force push me to gain momentum and it took quite a turn. It’s a lesson in momentum — LITERALLY!!!

See this picture? Majestic isn’t it? It’s a picture on the way to work. It’s far from home but quite relaxing to go to. I had these photos dated a few days back. Weeks even. Shots taken apart and at different places. Here are some other shots:

These two look like painting!

These landscapes are simply amazing! I remember what I said during my interview that I’ll never get sick of this. I don’t believe I could.

A foggy morning which gives you a bit of a spooky vibe but makes you want to go to bed because it’s so relaxing to look at.

Anyway, going back to my life lesson and what “pushed” me to write today is a bit of an adrenaline rush experience. I was driving home this afternoon when the car in front of me went for a sudden stop because the one in front of him made a sudden turn. We both made the stop and I thought I dodged the bullet but as I exhaled a breath of relief, here comes another one on my tail who did crashed into me and transferred his momentum to mine so that the once non-moving object (my car) was thrown off towards the other one (car in front of me). And this is how it looked like:

This is my ride. Now this one is so unfortunate given its circumstance. I mean, I have been a defensive driver all my life and never do I expect that I will come across this incident. Nonetheless, I just stayed calm while we wait for the policemen. I was thinking maybe there’s this “unstoppable force” that the other driver didn’t overcome. That this “force of nature” went on and gave him a lesson on momentum. I mean, he has a heavier vehicle and he shouldn’t be driving as fast as me but since he went on with it, well... here we are!

Bunny face is the driver of the van who crashed into my car’s rear (also covered the policeman’s face). Bunny face didn’t deny his fault. He went with us to the station without hesitation and gave us assurance that he’ll pay for the repair for our car’s damages. The driver of the first car didn’t put the blame on me. Lucky for me, he saw that I have stopped seconds before the crash. Also, I think he’s also knowledgeable about two forces affecting each other, you know, like billiard balls hitting each other. Contact creates motion. The van’s the cue ball, my car’s another billiard ball, he hits me, I hit the other one.

So sad that it went this way. I mean, my car loan’s gonna be over by February and it stinks that I’ll miss it for weeks, months even! Now my problem is how to commute from our house to my work and vise versa. Oh, well... at least we’ve learned something from it.

... and yes! The accident gave me some push and some momentum to write but I don’t want to EVER experience this again... I’m gonna miss you, Green Goblin! I hope it’s just a minor and reversible damage. Until we meet again!
