The sound of sirens.

We all know what a society can become at this time of year, a combination of chaos, euphoria, joy, renewal and madness. All this happens year after year, in all corners of the planet, or at least that is how I understand it. The most important festivities of the year, Christmas and New Year, added to the long-awaited holidays, and in my case added to a tourist city in the Atlantic Ocean bay which means in summer it receives hundreds of thousands of tourists.

It's incredible to see how a place can change in a matter of days, from the calm and desolate fishing coastline that is usually throughout the year, to a panic and madness in Vegas, CLASS B. I do not make this statement from a negative posture, but seeing how my natural place transforms into a disgusting social dump gives pity. Every day you can see plastic cups, garbage bags thrown away, food waste, not only in the streets, on sidewalks, beaches, everywhere. Since the year has begun in a radius of 10 km I have seen 4 crashed cars, in less than 3 days, and the sirens do not stop ringing (in fact at this precise moment it Im hearing one in the distance, apparently it is an ambulance since its sound is quite particular).
Yesterday night at work there were four ambulance and a police car siren in less than 4 hours.

The euphoria of the people leads to their behavior becoming totally primitive, added a lifestyle that is based on alcohol and parties, unfortunately not all have the gift of reason to connect two cables and realize what they are doing. Or on the other hand it makes me think that human stupidity has no limits and we are still going to have to coexist with misfits who do not reach a minimum of IQ to have at least the awareness of acting in the form and order to respect each other.





The sound of the siren has become something normal to me, and my mind does not stop generating a film of what could have happened, what is the porpose of that siren. Like all films, the characters in my movie are always the same, on one hand we have the social misfit who thinks he owns the world and walks through life without respecting anything, and on the other hand, an average citizen like any of us could be . My short film always has the same outcome but with two different possible endings.
One where the accident is caused by subject A, who was drunk, from a party, playing races, driving without respecting any traffic signal and in his GTA game ends up killing subject B who is totally out of all circumstances. It sounds quite dark and sad, unfair and cold.
On the other hand the same outcome but without involving the subject B, and where the individual who loses his life is subject A in question, sounds quite "fair" doesn't it? or at least after processing possibility number one, we will all agree that the second end would be the most appropriate.

This peculiar sound has totally lost a real meaning for me, it is no longer simply a sound that is lost in the air and that it usually visits so sporadically that its presence is usually news. Someone once said "the sound of a waterfall can be insignificant for those who have lived all their lives at the foot of the waterfall, almost soundless." I do not think this is my case, nor do I believe that they stop with the sirens. Whatever the future may be, the only thing I hope is it to be fair, and that the individual to be involved is the parasite and not the ant.
