Today, I want to share with you my first "Hatha Yoga" Class in Barcelona! And I'm talking about Yoga benefits for your life!

πŸ™ My first "Hatha Yoga" Class πŸ™

The word yoga, from the Sanskrit word yuj means to yoke or bind and is often interpreted as "union" or a method of discipline. A male who practices yoga is called a yogi, a female practitioner, a yogini.

It was a new extraordinary experience!

The Studio is located on Enric Granados street in Barcelona. It is a soothing place and full of good waves. You feel calm and serenity as soon as you enter the studio. This is a very important point ...

🌞 Yoga allows connecting your BODY, your HEART and your SPIRIT!
There are many kinds of Yoga practices. Today, our sweet and kind teacher Abril, taught us Hatha Yoga.

This discipline used physical POSTURES (asanas), BREATHING PRACTICES (pranayama) and MEDITATION as well as deep relaxation (yoga nidra).

🌞 We were only 6 people for this session. It was ideal because each student was able to enjoy the benefits of yoga, with personalized accompaniment.
Our teacher accompanied us by helping our postures with soft and progressive adjustments.

🌞 We used specific yoga equipment:

βœ… mat

βœ… blankets

βœ… blocks

βœ… strap

🌞 The teacher guided us for about 1h30. I had trouble concentrating during the whole session. My mind was going in all directions! It is a difficult exercise when you are a beginner. That's why consistency and regularity are essential.

The most important thing in Yoga is not the goal but THE PATH...

I'm a huge fan of yoga and I must admit, I'd like to do it more often! I do, however, rock the cat-cow every single day. It's probaly the best thing you can do for your spine.

@flamingirl, what do you think of hot yoga? I really love it, especially in the winter time.

To be honest I do not know exactly what is hot yoga ^^... Can you tell me more? πŸ™

It's actually called Bikram Yoga. The studio is heated up to 105 degrees with 40% humidity and so it gets really intense as you move through the poses. I love it at the end when you're resting and the instructor lays out cold towels on your face. It's incredibly blissful. Definitely worth experiencing!

Awesome post! I have been practicing meditation for about 6 months now and have seen the changes in my mental health which has reflected in all areas of my life. I have been looking into yoga too, very inspirational post.

What kind of meditation do you practice @exkwizard? It interests me to know more because I also started meditation recently and I see a lot of changes too!

I try do a mindfullness meditation daily in the morning and then a chakra alignment every now and then when I feel really down. I have also been reading a lot lately and I have found that "lao tzu, tao te ching" is a life changer with regards to cleaning up your energy and thoughts.
