Are you well adjusted in this dysfunctional world?

in life •  7 years ago

When i was a little kid my parents signed me up for all kinds of lessons.
One year was baseball.
I played for the team sponsored by the police.
We had black shirts with our numbers, 13 as i recall, and hats that said police on them.
Most of my childhood is a mystery to me.
I could no more tell you how my birthdays went, than i could tell you what i had for lunch last week.
But this has stuck with me like a theme.
We had the only perfect record in the league, 0 & 13.
The main thing i remember is getting a line drive to third that i caught and missed the tag on the runner behind me.
The rest of it is pretty much blank.

I try and organize change. Unfortunately anarchists don't seem to want to organize. :( lol

They are like herding cats.
Its the nature of free people.

Free people and free animals are free to organize and use strength in numbers and specializations.
Technically wouldn't anarchists be free to do anything like organize and enslave other anarchists?

Yep, but then they wouldnt be anarchists, they would be statists.
Rule by force is off the table, or it isnt anarchy.

So is a herd of wolves with a pack leader a group of statists? lol
Wouldn't there be an incentive for non anarchists to enslave and/or rob the anarchists?

See, the viewpoint foisted upon you as a child prevents you from accepting that we can all work together for the common good, you continue to insist on issues that wont exist.
Nobody steals when goods are free
Anybody that did rob you would be lucky to escape with their lives, the neighbors wouldnt need to call 911 to rid the neighborhood of trouble.
If they become known as theives nobody will have anything to do with them, without money to buy friends they wont have any at all.

You think we can only work together under anarchy?
Goods have never been free and will never be free.
Why would anarchist neighbors care?

No.
Crapitalism has a lock on history.
An attack on one is an attack on all.

That was beck?
Who knew?

oh nice, i just starting writing with my memes as well. trying to figure out what the write about to day actually.

Maybe when they dont need my active key.
That allows them access to your funds, you are trusting them to never hire someone tempted by the combined liquid assets of their users.
I know that is unlikely, but why take that chance and pay 25% to do it?
Their vote cant be big enough to cover all that.

My own record in baseball is remarkably similar. On my birthday I was pulled from the mound, and never pitched again. That turned out to be the only game we ever won =p

Sounds like me. Resteemed.

I recently re-read Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley. It was written in 1931, nearly 90 years ago, but is still relevant today. Huxley creates a world where everyone is programmed to be happy If anyone is having a "bad hair day" they just take a soma pill and they instantly become well adjusted again. Basically, the result is the dysfunctional world you are describing.

Brave New World is frequently compared with George Orwell's 1984. Huxley's vision, where the leaders exert totalitarian control over their citizens by programming them, literally from their birth in a test tube, to their death, which is something they anticipate with joy.

In other words, it's the world your cartoon evokes. Who is the mentally sane person, the one who is happy in a dysfunctional world, or the one who cannot cope with this dystopia. The rulers in Huxley's world are more firmly in control than the brute force exerted by the rulers in 1984

Yes, they are both books i recommend to sleeple arising from their trances.
This is a good one, too.

Looking Backward is definitely an interesting read. I read it a long time ago, in college. His vision is actually a Marxist utopia, where everyone has a guaranteed income and where society guarantees that everyone's basic needs are satisfied. Marx has gotten a bad rap. His insights are actually very profound and relevant today. The idea that the people who control the mechanisms of production control social relations as well makes perfect sense. Think of the 1%.

Bellamy also was heavily influenced by the cooperative movement, with people such as Charles Fourier] and Robert Owen]. Unfortunately, the excessive individualism that we see today is a corrosive influence on our society.

Why does it have to be marxist?
We wouldnt even know who marx was without lenin or engels.
I think its more Bakunist, but i dont need labels to steer me to its idea.
On any given tuesday we can turn over the tables and kick the money changers out.

Did you get this one, too?

Its more ancrap.

I'm new to Steemit. I've heard the term "anarcho-capitalism" used in various contexts, including references to cryptocurreny. Could you please explain exactly what it means and how it differs from the common definition of capitalism? Thank you.

Ancrap is an attempt to hijack the narrative by the new boss, who is the same as the old boss.

Ancraps are mostly newbs to anarchism, only wishing to dodge rules that dont benefit them while retaining rules that do.
Anarchism is the reaction to crapitalism, the two are mutually exclusive.
I suspect that they are early plants to damage anarchism at a future date.

Is your memory vague about childhood, and beyond by choice?

Nope, i got a memory like swiss cheese.
Somethings i remember, most things i dont.

That's how my memory is these days, after a few concussions, fluoride, Monsanto and who knows what other toxicity I've had suckered upon my membrane...

My memory once tested out at "upper 2%" of the population, according to a battery of neurological testing performed on me after a head injury years ago. That was a time when I was asked a lot..."how do you know so much?" I'd shrug and say, "I don't know"...But I do know now, what I didn't know then, what I knew, I wouldn't know later, less I knew how to avoid the loss of knowing... PHEW...Make any sense?
Buenos Dias Amigo.

Yep, i shoudnta drunk all that cough syrup all them years,....
I attribute it to the crap.
It aint worth remembering anyways, or i would.
