CONVICTION MAKES FAITH EFFECTIVE.

“A belief is something you will argue about. A conviction is something you will die for”
Howard Hendricks.

“A man without conviction is as weak as a door hanging on one hinge”.
James Gordon

Faith does not grow but faith can become effective and efficient. One major thing that makes faith to be effective and efficient is a conviction. The scripture said that Abraham was fully convinced in Rom 4:21. Synonyms of the word conviction in other Bible translations are (absolutely sure; certain; fully satisfied and assured; completely sure). If you want to see the manifestation of God’s blessings in any area of your life, you must be convinced, certain, absolutely sure, completely sure and fully satisfied and assured that God is able to do what He promised. I think that the absence of conviction can be likened to unbelief. The bible said that Abraham was fully convinced that God is capable to do what he promised. God was pleased with him and Abraham received that which God promised to him.

CONVICTION MAKES YOU TO PRESERVE AND KEEP GOING.

It is a conviction that empowers patience and endurance. Conviction is a product of knowledge. No one will be convinced about anything that he has no information about. The more you have information or knowledge (in this case; our relationship with God. Am not talking about head knowledge. Am talking about revelation knowledge about God and His son Jesus) the more you will be convinced that God’s word is Truth. You will begin to grow in confidence about the capacity and ability of God; this makes you persevere and keep moving knowing that it will be better. The greatest enemy of conviction is ignorance. You can learn anything! To be stable in this journey of life, you must keep on learning and developing.

I deduced from Romans 4:21 that conviction has degrees or levels. New King James Version said “…fully Convinced”. In other words, there was a time Abraham’s conviction about God was not full. The more convinced we are the better for us. For instance, weak telephone signals will affect the efficiency and effectiveness of connectivity and communication. In like manner, if our conviction is weak, it will definitely affect the manifestation of God’s blessing in our lives. “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let, not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” James 1:6-8. Double-mindedness is a direct result of ignorance(lack of full knowledge on a particular thing.). When you are well informed, you will come to a point of full conviction and you will have what you are looking for.

IGNORANCE DOES NOT PLEASE GOD.

Hebrew 11:6 said something very instructive. It says; “It's impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him”. As a matter of fact, what God wants from believers is to be fully convinced(have full knowledge) on who He is.
Know God’s ability and know also that you have access to his ability will help you so much in life. Let’s take a look at this event that took place in the bible. “On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side." Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!" Mark 4:35-41. Jesus Christ was not pleased with His disciples because hitherto, they have not known who He was; His capacity and ability. If know who Jesus is and what he can do, they will know that the storm will not harm them.

CONCLUSION.
What God demands from you as a believer is to BE FULLY CONVINCED THAT HE IS GOD AND THAT HE CAN DO ALL THINGS. Anything less than that is unbelief. “How is it that you have no faith?" was Jesus remarks on the actions of His disciples (see Mark 4:35-41). Therefore, the strength of your conviction is in your level of knowledge. The more you know the person of Jesus and what He has done for you, the more your conviction tends towards fullness.
