[...] Genius Can Handle Chaos

in life •  6 years ago

Going to an appointment this morning, I walked by a group of saleswomen gathered together for a little (or a lot) of gossip, since they didn't have any customers. Or so was my first impression.

Much to my surprise, as I passed by, I caught these words from one of the women in the group: Genius can handle chaos.

I didn't hear anything before this nor did I have time or was in a situation to find out where this conversation would lead from here.

But it was a striking discrepancy between my first impression and those words. After thinking it over on my way, I came to the conclusion, that the woman probably overheard or read the words somewhere and that they must be part of a quote, real or not, as so many are spawned and distributed widely these days.

But it still remains the surprise that such a topic would come by in their conversation. Hmm, how wrong our first impressions can be sometimes...

Let's take a look at those words: Genius can handle chaos.

I read them like this: Chaos is something that exceeds the power of understanding and even more, action and reaction for a normal individual. Genius or borderline genius is what is needed to make sense of chaos and bring it to order so that the rest of us can sleep well.

Although we cannot compare the situation with chaos, because there were strict failsafe procedures triggered to stop the spread of the issues, we did need the swift and concentrated actions of very smart guys to bring the Steem blockchain back to a producing state in the recent event that halted Steem blockchain. This task couldn't had been handled by a swarm of regular guys not knowing what they were doing in a much longer period.

Anyway, back to my flow of thoughts at the time. I made a mental note to check on those words when I get home.

So I did. It wasn't much of a surprise when I found out they are part of a quote.

Order is for idiots, genius can handle chaos.

I doubt Albert Einstein said this, as attributed.

There are two ways I understand this quote. That genius can break out of rules and order to be able to handle chaos, when needed.

That idiots (regular people?) can help more in an ordered, predictable environment.

You might think the above quote (again, real or not), is harsh.
But then, what happens when an idiot thinks can handle chaos?
