Although I’ve known about the solar eclipse for months, I was totally unprepared. I had not ordered a filter for my nice camera and had not even looked up how to take nice pictures of it. In my last minute panic I couldn’t even find my welding helmet this morning.
Fortunately my son had left his library glasses for the solar eclipse at home. So I could at least see it. I tried taking some pictures with my phone (and the glasses) but that didn’t work out cause it never focused right and was still too bright.
So saw these instructions on using binoculars the other way to project an image on a black background. That worked out all right and that is the picture you see here. But I should have been better prepared.
The next total solar eclipse visible in Arkansas is on April 8, 2024. And I will be prepared. I already invited my family for an eclipse party.
