How is Steemit Today?

It does seem that people on Steemit are trying to get back to how things were before the hardfork. I personally have seen no difference positive or negative from what Steemit was before the hardfork. Spam is less, what the reason for this is I'm not sure, whatever spam I received was mostly from people who probably couldn't speak much English and were desperately trying to get upvotes because they joined Steemit expecting to make some quick money. I don't know what other people define spam as, I see it as more of a nuisance even though I see some people even laying low payouts on spam.

Speaking of payouts I see a lot of posts saying that our individual votes are worth more because of less people using the reward pool, my account has seen no increase either in vote price or account value apart from what the price fluctuations on the market give it, of course my account is very small so maybe is not affected by this.

Back to spam I don't think anything about this hardfork will reduce spam, like users it is now down but if people do come back and people start signing up massively again that will be the return of spam. Personally I am way more worried about scams than spam.

Now seeing these articles that have taken the positive route I can see one major benefit, they are being upvoted by @blocktrades and that is one massive vote, over $120.00 now that is a real benefit because for months before the hardfork blocktrades had stopped voting and I guess a lot of people sorely missed them.

Well I do hope all the good thoughts I have seen do materialize, even though I think that most of the changes that result from the hardfork are more aimed at getting ready for SMT's than looking out for any benefits to the community, but then again I am kind of negative always so maybe that has a big influence on my thinking.

As for why am I here? Well I guess trying to make money would be a huge reason, but also English is my second language and I find I can practice it here and nobody gets upset about my using some phrases which might not be that adequate, I do know a lot of words as I read a lot but sometimes I think, reasonably, that I don't use them correctly.

Gduran do you know if Steem Dollars are still convertible to at least 1$ USD worth of steem after the hard fork? Nice article by the way.

At coinmarketcap.com SBD are at $0.98, so I think they still are nearly at 1 USD.
