This week dragged on forever, and it truly felt as if it was never going to end. It felt as if I played a role in the 1984 movie "The Neverending story"and by Wednesday I really wished that I had a flying dragon that could take me far far away....
I try to be as positive as possible about my job, because I truly love teaching. It gives me peace of mind that I can help make a difference in the lives of young people, but this is not where my day ends. After classes I develop and upgrade the current textbooks for the school. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE writing and I would write a book if I had the time, but there is a BIG difference between writing a story and writing a textbook. I like to be creative, and to write something according to specifications is REALLY boring and putting a damper on my creativity.
BUT
I know that this needs to be done to make the work more interesting for the kids, and ultimately they would benefit from my hard work. So I struggle forth...
One thing that I have learned in life, is that hard work pays off. If you are determined to do something and you work hard towards your goal, you can succeed at anything. I must sometimes sound like a stuck record, but I say this in class daily. If I do something I do it to the best of my ability. I will spend hours to to complete a task at work, and I will not give up until I am done. I am quite a perfectionist, but there is nothing that irritates me more than a job half done. Perhaps I shoot myself in the foot by working so hard, but I feel proud when I complete something, and if I look back at what I have done, I feel as if I have accomplished something great.
BUT
Today I am glad that it's Friday...Fabulous, fantasy Friday! This weekend I will rest, and I will be lazy. This weekend I will not complete anything, but I promise you that on Sunday I will still feel as if I accomplished something great. Because by then, I will have my sanity back.

It's Falcor!! He was the best part of the movie! Teaching is definitely hard work. Kids can be tricky to teach because you have to keep their attention. I hope you have a great weekend and get some rest.
