Vintage SteemitTalk Podcast clip - Poking fun at WinstonWolfe! (Audio)

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

Greetings Steemit,

Last week my buddy & fellow Stemian Mr. @WinstonWolfe shared a photo of me on another social media site, and received my response of "Shots Fired!"

This particular photo was snapped while I was DJing a nightclub years ago - and I remember the event vividly. I had been drinking that night (as usual when playing Music) and was concentrating on a mix when I looked up and notice a camera lens in my face.

I'm sure most of you know Winston as one of Steemit's most notable photographers - however I've been accustom to him sticking a camera in my face for several years now. As was the case this night in question - I noticed Winston practicing his craft - and decided to give him a good shot.. so I hunched over trying to look at the camera from a sideways position, made the stupidest Duck-Face I could muster, and held the pose until the shot had been taken.

As if that photo didn't look ridiculous enough on its own - Winston later decided to run it through the Google Dream filter - and now I'm left in the image Duck-Faced and in the midst of a Tie Dye nightmare.

I'm not going to post it here - because I'm sure Winston will post it in the comments as retort - however I have specifically made the comment to Winston before "Dude - that's probably the only picture I've ever been in where I'm making a Duck-Face, please don't share that one around anymore" .. and yet, as mentioned above, a few days ago it popped back up.

So ... keeping my word when proclaiming "Shots Fired!" .. here is my response.

This one's gonna take you back almost a year.. back when the @SteemitTalk podcast was still mostly a simple gathering of friends, before it actually felt like a 'real gig' and we were just goofing around. At the time we considered ourselves just friends hanging out and rapping about Steemit on Microphones once a week - yet unbeknownst to us, the show was blossoming.

I had JUST incorporated a 12 channel mixer into the setup, which included an onboard effects processor. Having been a DJ for over 15 years, I'm very accustom to pushing effects buttons on the fly during a performance.. and before the 'newness' wore off, was seriously enjoying dropping effects on co-hosts without their prior knowledge, mid-sentence when most funny.

This was also back when we still held @QuantumAnomaly as a co-host, who would bring us delectable food items each week. This day we were treated to homemade "Bacon Buffalo Chicken Dip".. which was lovingly referred to as "BBCD".

The recorder happened to be rolling when I caught this unprompted example, and I've been saving it for a while thinking it may be a fun share someday.

Well Guess WHAT MuthaFunka? TODAY is THE day @WinstonWolfe!!!

So everyone sit back, relax, and get ready to enjoy some VINTAGE @SteemitTalk Podcast at the expense of making fun of my buddy Winston.

He seemed genuinely embarrassed in the moment - hence why I'm sharing it. (NSFW)

Cheers Steemit!

"i wouldn't make fun of you if i didn't care about you."

glad to see this maxim of mine exists in other friendships as well. :P
